I think another domain trend has started and want to see whats being registered.

I did first, thinking of offering mine to them as a defensive tactic against competitors, but it backfired though.. they didn't start any legal action (yet) but they were clear enough in their reply for me to doubt their motivation to do so if i should ever use this domain name.. just this or hoping someone else will buy it not doing any due diligence beforehand, before it expires..

They provided it, original TM holder is LG, but BMCGroup (Owner behind SmartCloud dot com) is exercising it for them
ps: you can see that proof easily via Trademarkia.com etc. as well (actually i knew it at the time i registered mine, but oh well..)

Do some research and you will find that a ton of companies use the term smartcloud, including ibm.

Take a look around at developed sites using smartcloud.

Looks like they have a lot of defending to do.

I would be pretty annoyed if I owned smartcloud dot com and someone tried selling me smart cloud systems lol.

I'll be sure not to use it in a way that infringes their trademark

I appreciate it, but I'm thinking they were probably upset at you spamming them with a far inferior name.

I'm sure they aren't going after IBM...?

Its still a TM Josh and they can still take the name from you...not worth the risk..just do whats right so domainers don't get the "squatter" label

You cant use it without infringing unless its a site that is nothing to do with cloud computing, which is going be tough

Don't try and sell it though, that gives them all the ammo they need

I don't have any immediate plans for it. I'm not interested in infringing on their trademark though.

I may make a website on clouds in the sky.
