The .org just doesn't fit the cloud niche at all, even if it is a single word name

If you bought it, you will struggle to sell it for decent $$ to big corporations, they just aren't interested in .org names

CopyMyCloud [d0t] com , it's a long shot
Sorry, these are just reported sales, not mine

I love when people are successful, but I saw sale after sale you were posting and I thought you were raking it in and each of those were yours! lol. Congrats on the $30k sale though, I wish we could all have those every day!

How can .org NOT "fit the cloud niche"?

Non-profit Orgs are big on cloud services... and there is a huge tech community -along with some huge multinational corps., who provide cloud services to non-profit corporations.

I'm not in the market for it, but I think Cloud.org could be a pretty big sale.

I agree, they all use the cloud, but their company name and therefore domain, wont be called "Cloud.org"

My point is just because someone uses cloud storage, doesn't mean they will want the name Cloud.org

Now if there was a startup company in the cloud industry and they had some nice funding/investors, and they couldn't get or afford Cloud.com or their own Cloud.cctld, then they would more likely go with a brandable cloud name or a 2-word cloud .COM or cctld name

Since when did domains have to be company names? hypothetical, what if Microsoft wanted to rename their CRM cloud product Microsoft Dynamics to "Cloud" or "Cloud.org" to compete against SalesForce.com cloud CRM software? Is "Cloud.Org" more descriptive of the product than "dynamics?" potentially. could microsoft afford a better domain? yes i think they would rather get cloud.com, but this is just a hypothetical example. maybe im thinking too highly of the .org extension?

i think if a company thinks it can pull off the .org, it could be a fitting name or site for a cloud enterprise product/service.

True, but as I said, most are non-profit orgs so they arent really that interested in "competing" with other non-profit orgs, they are non-profit remember, so there is not need to compete or crush their competitors

Just have a look at some of the strong keywords in .org, CloudSolutions.org, CloudServer.org, CloudServers.org, CloudHosting.org, CloudServices.org etc...all of them are for sale, owned by domainers

I admit that Cloud.org is much better, but I don't think its worth paying a fortune for

Only my opinion though

I'm not saying the Red Cross, Gates Foundation, or any major non-profit will change their name or domain to Cloud.org. Or, that "just because someone uses cloud storage, they will want Cloud.org". That's silly.

I'm saying... Who in the Cloud Services biz would NOT consider Cloud.org?

Answer: Those who do not serve non-profit orgs, and/or, don't do public service outreach projects (aka Cause Marketing).

No problem

I think the name will go to a domain investor or domain company for now and will remain there for a while

BusinessCloudBackup $55+ cpc 200 searches
FreeCloudServer $20+ cpc, 900 searches

Both in .com of course.
