I don't know what you think but after 10 years of domaining I'm super-sick of hearing the words "Premium" or "SuperPremium" in any damn domain sale.
And I'm guilty too because I often use these terms. And then I realise that they're the most useless words in the world since every domainer says that his domains are SuperPremiums!

Buy now the SuperPremium domains:

- FishingWithFriendsInAHotSummerDay.cars
- LoveIsInTheAirForAllThePeopleThatStillBelivesInLove.Irish
- CarRentalCheapAndReliableInDublin.us
- CricketSoccerBaseballFootballVolleyballPokerHorseRacingPassion.com

Yeh the "premium" banwagon is awfully tiresome by now. You know its done for when you see the registrars offering:
"This Premium domain name is for sale!" and it's RoadKill4Dinner.com reselling for $5k or you do a whois search and the name expired 6 months ago but it's still coming up Premium.

Normally the forum has a filter feature that replaces/censors certain words like profanity.
Using the word 'premium' should trigger the profanity filter, or send the thread to a moderation queue :-P

Should this apply to "top" as well. :)

This is a very hurtful association for me, as someone drove over my best mobile phone. :)

Fortunately I wasn't using it at the time.

Why should I am going to sold you for $50, when I got xxxx offers!

It's funny, anyway I don't won any "premium or freemium domain".

Do you genuinely own iloveyou.com or has some sarcasm gone over my head? If you genuinely own that then that is a monster domain. 7-8 figures IMO. Unbelievable.. DO NOT take xxxx at all.

The use of "premium/superpremium" in domaining though is interesting to me as it shows again the power of words.

A person in Sedo said to me once "every domain being purchased by an end-user is premium to that end-user".

That made some sense to me. We might label a domain after a type of bird flying around, but that's just our perspective. What about the buyers perspective?

On that note, I propose the price of every domain on BrandBucket be raised to 50 grand.

.

Nonsense. Certain domains have intrinsic value, based on their characteristics, e.g. dictionary .com domains, short domains etc. Sure, an end-user might pay top dollar for a domain, but that doesn't make any domain an end-user buys "premium."

And it starts again...*phew*.

Recent sales by Mike Mann AgriCool.com .. and previously ThrillOfTheGrill.com - those names are premium to those buyers.

What the H E Two Hockey Sticks does Age have to do with domains? Is this like cheese or wine? If I talk with a blogger and he is looking for a super name for said blog, should I look for a 12 year old name for x,xxx or hand reg a new name and sell it for xxx ?

What's Age got to do with it?

It's like buying an old car - it can have problems associated with it - HP debt, or it could have been owned by a drug dealer.

Old domain names can be on spam lists, banned by Google, have porn associations or other difficulties.

Will you list your own domain name as poor one?
That is marketing strategy, I know definitely, when you are putting up your domain for sale, you must add something that could attarct buyers; be it premium or not, one adjectival promo must be added to attract buyers

That's a rather oversimplified approach. New domains, eg. those held for a year, can be equally bad or worse, as they are often registered via registrar specials and are meant to spam, phish or engage in nefarious activities such as spambot networks.

Old domains, on the other hand, command Google juice much faster when developed.

As always, due diligence is mandatory.
