question Should marketplaces allow users to watch a name for price change?

And should they tell you how many people are watching it?

I was browsing ebay and they have the feature to watch an item. I do watch some domains there and like when I get a notice that a seller lowered a price.

I feel that domains get a lot of traffic from potential buyers that like the name but they are not interested at the price listed.

What if marketplaces allow visitors to watch a name? And if it has more than 1 watcher you could tell them so they know others are interested too?

This way if we have watchers for a name we might want to lower a price and those leads get a notice.

However, could this backfire? Does a watch option get people to not buy and just watch and lose their excitement? I guess we won't know if we don't try.
