I have the following domain names that need to renew with in the next 90 days:
52 - dotCOM's
4 - dotNET's
3 - dotORG's
2 - dotUS's
With 55 of them having private registration.
GoDaddy wants to charge me $811.11 for this D-:

I have a coupon for 20% off $75 or more which for some reason only brings me down -$77.44 to $733.67. (one would think it would remove -$162.22 = $648.88, but it doesn't :( )
Any other coupons I could use to bring this down?

Or should I switch from GoDaddy? If so, to who for my domain name registrations?

Thanks in advance,
-BassKozz

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
Well, godaddy is one of the most trusted domain registrars with pretty cheap registrations. Perhaps you can try to sell the domains you don't want or just clean up shop and delete the ones you just don't use or need. Obviously if you have this many domain names and aren't making enough to pay for the domain names easily you should get rid of a few of them and focus on a small number of sites to develop.

Use GoDaddy's $6.95 voucher:

zine3

A coupon like that will end up at less than $400. :)

Thanks for the advice zhalefarin, but my main goal is to keep all the domains. The 61 I mentioned in the original post are a scrubbed list. So my goal is to keep all 61.

"zine3" isn't working for me :( Are you sure it's not just for NEW domains. (remember these are renewals I am trying to process)

Or was that a joke :D

namecheap.com offer free privacy

61 x $8.88 = $541.68

EDIT: I just found the July coupon offer for namecheap:

bottlerocket

this reduces the .com's to $7.98

this means:

52 x $7.98 = $414.96
9 x $8.88 = $79.92

= $494.88

I guess the challenge is on to get the best deal.

Yes, you can transfer to namecheap youll get reasonable pricing & whois guard, just a buck or more comparing to godaddy(without whois guard).

Or if you decide not to use privacy service anymore you can continue with godaddy, just log into you domainsbyproxy.com account and cancel the privacy subscriptions, thatll make your renewal's at godaddy most cheaper than nameheap and anywhere else, most importantly the stress of transfering is reduced.

GDBB776 has .com and .net renewals for $6.95 (was working a few days ago should still work)

Honestly, unless these names are sensitive in nature (adult), why do you want privacy on them? Privacy is one of those not quite neccessary things. Sure, your info gets out on teh internet, but whos information isnt?

Stick with them, just dump theprivacy. Or, call them up to see if you can get it cheaper. Tell them you'll buy it if they knock it down to $1 per domain - if not, youll just pass. It costs them nothing to give you privacy, so even $1 per domain is better than nothing

transfer them all to moniker @ $6.95 NP pricing

better registrar, better price

Perhaps you should consider joining the DNOA, which offers privacy for an unlimited number of domains with a yearly membership. The current membership fee is $20/year I believe, or use Moniker - $1 privacy per domain per year.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I am going to take your advice and stick with GoDaddy, the stress of transfering (and makeing sure everything goes smoothly) seems too much.

No these domains are not of adult nature, but I'd preferr to not have my name attached to them. The business I am in is very compeditive and I'd rather not let people know what I am up to. (keep your friends close, and keep your enemies closer) :)

Really, Would a big company like GoDaddy give a price break to lil'ole'me ?
I doubt it... I would really have to get a nice rep on the line. Has anyone had any success with this?

I think I am going to go this route.
This would save me $387.20 :)
And bring my total down to: $423.91 Much more reasonable. (that's not even including my 20% off coupon)

The only problem is I didn't see FREE privacy listed as one of the perks on the DNOA's website can someone confirm this for me. [Edit: See my post here on this topic]

Also how does this work, how does DNOA offer privacy if my domains are hosted with GoDaddy?

Thanks for all the help guys,
REP's all around :)

Most of my domain sales come in thru the "who is" So if I had my names as private, I would never sell my names. In my opinion, you do not want to have the privacy on your names as the buyer will often times find you thru the who is and email you.

The only time to use privacy Imo is if you do not want to sell the name or the name is a tm or a simalar issue.

Most names you want the buyers to see who owns it. You say you don't want to have anyone see the names so you can be competive. Well if your names are private or not people will see the name is taken even if they don't show your information in the who is, it shows the names have been regged.

Why list the names for sale in the auction houses or anywhere if you don't want anyone to see them?

I never said I was a domain seller... These domain names I own are for my own business, and I simply redirect a majority of them to my MAIN website. But some of the domain names I own are similar to my competitors... so I don't want them knowing who I am (granted they will see the re-direct, but they would still have to do some hunting to figure out who's pulling the strings). Get it...

I never said I was listing these on "auction houses".
I don't use privacy for domains I am trying to sell, hell I don't even sell domains :)

Buy-and-hold... I am using most (if not all) of my domains for active websites.
