Be very 'car-ful' (pun intended) when contacting large corporations to offer domains for sale, especially when there are potential TM issues.
It is obvious that the domain you registered bears similarity to their brand so I would keep quiet, do not invite them to sue you :yell:
Honestly the domain is not premium at all and since they own fine domains like gm.com it's safe to assume they don't need yours.
My 2¢ :)

Thanks for the reply.. but why would they sue me for having that domain name? I did not get that at all..

Sorry to ask but.. what's a C&d?/

Guys.. I need suggestions on this please...

listen to sds as her advice is sound and reasonable.

Also a c&d stands for a "Cease and Desist" meaning if they feel you are using that name with their trademark or trying to monetize off of it they will tell yo to stop asap with a legal letter.

I think contacting them would only get you in trouble, besides I dont think they would be interested in owning it in the first place, you cant beat/better a domain like GM.com

As far as them possibly sueing you well its obvious what your domain is trying to say/represent, them. I dont think they would bother to sue you, they could easily take it off you with much less hassle.

A few years back I registered some Porsche domain names and shortly thereafter I got a letter kindly explaining trademarks. I was basically told to not try to sell them or use them or I would be going to court. My Ebay auction ended the night before the letter was received so I was able to sell them. Don't mess with trademarks unless you have a good lawyer and lots of $$$$.

Guys,

Thanks for all the replies.. I really appreciate it. I was thinking to sell it for some $2000 and I thought such a big company would never put that down. That is the reason I thought of contacting them.$2000 is nothing to those people.

What kind of Porsche domains were they? Like Porsche.cctld or PorscheCarrera.com ?

I don't remember the exact names but they would have been PorscheXXXXXX.com. I wish I could remember, I would like to see if anything was ever built with these names.

The fat cat corporations such as GM are not easy targets :hehe: But they have big guns. The domain is too long anyway. Honestly it's not worth more than reg fee IMHO. Stay clear of TM domains and you'll be fine.

automobile & motors.com don't really make sense together IMO - I doubt very much they would want it and why take the chance with a possible TM issue.

sorry to say but the domain isnt worth anywhere near your asking price of $2000 mainly due to the fact that it is sooo long. You'd be lucky to get your money back that you reg'd it for.
Good luck tho

In previous posts people warned you of registering trademarked names. Why would you go and register these?

sorry but $0

Sorry about that :(

First of all try avoiding registering TM domains like the 3 you have, as you won't be able to sell these, but you can get a nice lawsuit..

I actually have 43 domains like that.. what do I do with all of them then? :(

Domain is worth $0. Very long, nonsensical, and TM issues. $0 even without the TM issues. With the TM issues, I wouldn't even take them for free.

Don't try to sell, just hold onto them until they expire. I doubt that GM contacts you about them, but if they do, just hand them over.

When you say 43 domains like that, do you mean 43 GM domains, or 43 trademark-similar domains?

What to do

Hold them, and don't park. If you park you are trying to generate revenue by using their tm, and that's a problem. Others may know better than I do, but I think that your only facing legal problems if you try to generate revenue somehow in relation to their brand.
