Should I buy a quality .FM?

Hi

Do good quality .fm domains have any real value and what are the chances of finding a quick buyer for one? I have read about problems securing and transering these, is this still the case.

surely there are some words which are too 'good' for it to be considered subjective when combined with the .fm if that makes sense?

Personally I have always thought the .fm extension was really only good for domains related to radio stations and such.

None of these really strike me as being good .fm domains. As said above they need some radio link or ability to be developed with that in mind. The one I had my eye on was just that (too late now as I reg'd it anyway).

Sorry, it wasnt exactly obvious from your original post. I that case they are good .fm domains. I was thinking more of strong generic keywords that work as a .fm too, such as London.fm which sold for $4,939 in 2006.

For resale purpose I don't think .fm is really liquid enough. For development it's ok.
I would go for more established extensions.

Nice name! I personally think that .fm is way underrated. Time will tell.

Would be a great extention if it wasn't so terribly overpriced. However, deutsche.fm and british.fm are great domains IMO, would make sense as a name for a radio station.

By the way, does somebody own com.fm and such? Would be great for subdomain sales, because .fm is so expensive I can see a market in cheaper subdomains with .com.fm (I think lot of local amateur radio station would be willing to spend 3 or 4 euro on such a name, so if you sell only 30 or 40 of those you'd already be making profit)

Some interesting views. To be honest I think it has great potential over the next few years if nothing else other than the public are actually used to using the .fm suffix already with radio (bbc radio1 FM for example) so it doesnt need any translation to develop a stong brand and be memorable, but only for strong brandable keywords where that particualr suffix makes sense.

I have my eye on a couple of others. May take a punt on them and see.

For radio station/music development, it's a great extension. For resale? Not so much. Only a handful of sales so it's a long shot.
