I just found www.dot.fm. just wondering if dot fm would be worth anything. Its made for radio stations. There are still a lot of words available and the prices are different depending on the word. I have found a few premiums words which i can buy for $1500 up to $3500. Some of the cheaper domains go for $95 a year.

Anyone got any insight onto the dot fm domains or should i steer clear of them

Steer clear unless you want one to develop your own online radio station or something like that.

First off, .fm was not "made for radio stations" it is the country ccTLD for the Federated States of Micronesia. Is it a wise investment? Not unless youve got development or you see potetial long term value.

At this point .fm domain names are not selling fast, and it seems that only a few solid sites exist that are built on the .fm brand. I would stay away from this TLD, especially paying big bucks for the premiums.

yea just like .tv was not "made for online video" and .org was "only made for non profits". .fm is primarily being marketed and used as an extension for online radio and thats about the only use it has. Nobody even lives in Micronesia so i'm sure the government is happy about being able to market their extension for the whole world to use and not just their own people.

nrmillions, correct - it is being marketed as radio - however that does not change the fact that it is a ccTLD. It was NOT made for radio - even though that is what it is commonly being used for.

An average joe on the street may thought that it is made for radio.

$95 reg fee limits you the number of .fms to keep
