Should I buy a domain name getting traffic from forum spam?

This is a rather strange topic, but I found a domain name for sale that was a low price and getting a couple hundred clicks a month and making 20 dollars a month.

However, I checked on google, and it is getting traffic from pages and pages of forum spam.

Is this some sort of scam or technique used to bolster up domains? Would adwords get pissed about this?

I am trying to think of what would happen to the traffic, I think it would probably go down over time as people deleted their spam. It is not good as a type-in name. Still, it gets a lot of traffic for a good price.

What do you think about this? Is this something that is just not worth getting into? Has anyone bought a domain with traffic from spam like this?

SPAM is just bad period and more than likely the person is just doing it to generate a lot of traffic in a short amount of time. You want good quality traffic and not spam traffic. I personally would move on to another name.

Yeah I think you're right, it's not quality traffic because people hate spam. I was just wondering if this is a common selling tactic. He must have used a bot - his domain shows over 2,000 websites on Google.

It shows that you should always research the history of a domain you consider purchasing. The traffic will be junk and probably will not convert well, moreover it could jeopardize your adsense or parking account. So I would stay clear of names with a bad history.

How do you know it is making 20 dollars a month ? Did you get stats ?
Traffic inflation is a way to sell crap domains at inflated prices and it's one of the scams to avoid in domaining.

As a general rule, it's a good idea to avoid anything spam related. There are exceptions, if it is a domain you think you'd want long term you could always buy it and wait for the spam traffic to die down naturally. Personally, I'd avoid it though.

It was on an auction on Moniker, that said the domain had about 200 clicks per month and made 20 dollars over the last 30 days. By get stats, what exactly do you mean, like a screenshot of their hosting service? Are you saying the Moniker one could be faked? I suppose that pretty much all traffic can be faked which makes it difficult when you are specifically looking for domains with traffic, like I am doing right now.
