Domain/Forum getting Spammed

Hello,

I have phpBB installed but Ive started getting loads of porn spam messages on it which contain porn links etc. etc.

I have tried the 'humanizer', image and email confirmation and sadly it hasn't worked, they still keep coming and it's a contant battle deleting the messages.

Banning IP's they use proxies.
Banning with cookies works for one user, but is a lot of scripting and upkeep for very little payoff.

Best? Lots of user and mods to delete them when they popup (Hellllllllllllllllllo NamePros! )

It wouldnt be a problem if my site got posters and I had administrators, but sadly it doesnt, that's the next thing to promote! haha

Since I don't have much time to keep the forum, I think spam may help my website to generate traffic.

What more can I do?

I have found using the following two phpbb mods to be the best way for me to deal with bots, spammers, and the like:

The first one creates a link in the admin control panel to globally view, edit, ban, and delete users. Easy to sort by date joined. Makes my admin job simple.

The second one hides members from the public userlist until they make a post. This one also can be edited at anytime in the control panel under the General Admin Configuration. There are four different items you can enable/disable relating to inactive members.

I have these mods as well as account activation configured for Admin approval. Not many problems with spammers, and as a bonus dealing with the regular forum members is also easier.
