Just wondered if anyone has found a way to set up DNS zones quickly if all domains point to a handful of different hosts rather than creating individual entries for each domain on the DNS servers (primary and secondary).
I tried to set up a zone for each TLD - which worked.
The entry for the raw domains worked:
* IN A 123.123.123.111
However it would not let me then add DNS entries for subhosts like
www.* IN A 123.123.123.112
because wildcards to the RHS are not supported in BIND ...
So I started to wonder if there are any other short-cuts, dedicated DNS server hacks for domainers etc., as opposed to feeding big lists of domains to my DNS servers ..
thanks
