Just wanted to share...
there is a promotion for .sg names at S$5 (about US$3.50) but it is on until end of August
apparently the 100Kth name will be registered soon and that person wins a $2,000 prize
more importantly, there are a number of generic, one word names and numbers available that were already taken elsewhere
.....
sgnic.sg is the regulating body and you might like to check there first
i went through the entire list of their partners and found that instra.com.sg, an australian company with a presence in singapore, has the cheapest price for renewals
frankly the renewal prices of some of the other companies are too high in my opinion but that of instra.com.sg is the most reasonable at S$39, about US$26
......
for non-singaporeans wanting the .sg, you might like to look at this:
.SG - Second-Level Domain Name Under Top-Level
.SG: All individuals and entities are eligible to apply for any second-level domain name under .sg. Applicants which are not resident in Singapore, however, must appoint a local agent having a valid Singapore postal address as the Administrative Contact for the domain name, who shall also be authorized to receive all communications from SGNIC relating to the application. Applicants must in submitting their applications also abide by and observe the RPPG and, if the application is made during the Soft Launch Period, the SLG.
Local Presence option:
Applicants based outside of Singapore may still apply for a .SG domain name. Instra Corporation will act as your Administrative Contact for no additional cost to fulfill the registration requirement for this domain.
If you are based outside of Singapore, you will be given the option of electing us as your Administrative Agent during the application process.
