Ok, I know sex.com is a really valuable name, but if the actual owner of the name tried to sell it would anyone actually believe that the sale is legit no matter how much proof is show due to the massive amount of scamming and stealing of domains?

Better yet. Would you believe the sale of any top generic domain. Car.com, Dictionary.com, Buy.com, etc.

You mean of this actual domain, considering its past history of theft?

Why wouldn't you?

A little past-history doesn't mean the name can't be sold legitimately later :)

Yes Allan but it does bring back a fair amount of suspicion.

Once I get my 32 domain names appraised by a company, this guy said over emails that he'll sell me sex.com for cheap!

Once I get my 32 domain names appraised by a company, this guy said over emails that he'll sell me sex.com for cheap!

Really though, it would take some convincing :)

The webmaster of sex.com really emailed you saying that he will sell it to you for cheap?

I doubt it...Even if it has had past history it is still worth a lot.

I would buy it if was really cheap and then resell it...

I'm selling xes.moc - same as sex.com only backwards, only 600 np$, sorry Idaho Farmer!

Back to the topic... if the site located on sex.com saying it's up for sale is online, then I'd believe the deal is legit.

I have a mixed opinion about this. If someone just emailed me and said sex.com is for sale or I am selling sex.com I would probably laugh and delete it but if I saw sex.com on sedo then I might think twice.
