Hi,
I just got an appraisal from moniker and would like to know how to set the asking price, should it be exactly the appraisal amount, lower, higher? I would be listing it with end user prices only.
thanks

You really need to just decide what it's worth to you, and work from that. You could have the same name 'appraised' at 4 different appraisal companies and have 4 completely different price ranges. A name that is appraised at $100 can be sold for a few thousand if you do your marketing and target the right buyer. Likewise, a name appraised at $2,000 may never sell for that. It all boils down to which potential buyers you are in contact with. Only they know what it's worth to them.

I would have advised you not to pay for an appraisal, because there nearly worthless. The truth is, any reseller is going to laugh at you if you post an appraised price. I would suggest posting the domain name in the appraisal section here at NamePros. Its free, and experienced users can give you a reasonable idea of what it might fetch.

Nice one! I commented in the appraisal. BTW - you can breakup the keywords, making it more difficult to get indexed. I would edit my posting and make the domain like this:

Keyword (.com)

You should be sitting back in your chair with brows raised right now. You just received advice from two of the NPs more magnanimous individuals.

The advice is spot on.

First Gene points out you need to find a conviction to your own value. This will help you let go and not look back. To avoid the OMG I left money on the table feeling as well as produce sales.

Then Spade serves up a slice of humble pie we have all munched on. We tend to gravitate towards what we want to hear or to validate our choices. Bottom line is the end user or reseller/developer will pay what "they" value the name at or the amount you are willing to sell at. Which sometime (most) is not at all what we were appraised at or expected (hoped for)..

An option to consider are sites such as namebio. You can see a history or trends in pricing. You will also see the wide range of values ...... :] Then reflect back on Gene's and Spade's advice ....

Good luck...

Honestly as gene has said it really comes down to who you market the domain to and how much you are willing to sell it for. With a name like that i would expect it to rise in price over the years. I personally wouldn't sell that for cheap at the moment.
