Serious Business : Scammers

Hello Digital Point users,

We as webmasters live in a cruel online world sometimes when it comes to scammers. Being scammed is not fun, I know as I just was. In order to prevent scammers in the future I thought it would be best to start a site where the average webmaster can post there stories and the information of the scammer that got them.

By doing this in the future we will have a big collection info of all the scammers so that we can verify who we are selling to.

Erm....Digital Point.... did I step into the wrong forum here?

IMHO you can never "eliminate" scammers, there will always be 6 losers ready to take the place of every scammer.

Not to mention the fact it's near impossible to get rid of a scammer as the law is not working on tackling cyber crime or if they are, they're barely making a dent.

I was viewing your site however one thing I don't understand is how you are going to track the scammers. They obviously change their names every time they scam someone, yet you wish for people to report their "names". How is this going to be effective?

I love the idea however, we need to crack down on those who make us all paranoid.

This has been done here at Namepros before - but as always with this - you need to establish what the long term goals are of the site.

For an average site with average traffic, not gaining you any reasonable income soon ensures the site disappears by the wayside.
