SEO Domain Buildout Question

OK. Here is one for the experts. I own several domain name variations that are synonomous with the SEO Industry. In fact, when I recently met the CEO of a major Web Forum and he saw my business card, he said, "Oh you are an SEO Company." So, now I have these wonderful branding domain names and am now looking to monetize the site(s). What suggestions would the experts at this forum have to help me make a good decision on whether to sell the names or turn them into a profitable website.

My initial thoughts are to build the site out as an SEO Guidance site and attach affiliate offers within the site.

On the other hand, I would think these names would be quite valuable considering the name/industry recognition you get when you see the name. Perhaps a major SEO Company/Media Company would find value in these names and could build a whole brand around the domain names.

I need guidance. What would you do?

IMO, you can't judge that way, you have to test this first and then you judge the result...
you can create a page "under-construction" for those domains with adsense there, and showing that the domain is for sale. Once you get a suitable offer, compare between your revenue from adsense & the domain, and see then what to do.

If you sell you will never know what the results of building a site would have been.

If you build a site and it doesn't work for you, you can always sell later.

agree . if you dont need the money right now in some urgent way and you have the time for it - developing is always a good idea - its a win win scenario for you , if it will go well - the value of the domain will only get bigger and bigger by the day , also if it will fail completely - the initial value of the domain remains as it was .

but , on the outer hand - good offers can come only once sometime and if its a really good offer might be a good idea to take it .
hard to say without knowing the domain names and the offer that was stated for them

Building a SEO guidance site? - Like there aren't enough already. ;)

My advice is don't bother creating a SEO guidance site, unless you can create something that will be updated with exceptional content and not regurgitating the same basic SEO stuff over and over again, it might have a chance.

And marketing to marketers? - You would have to have exceptional affiliate offers to make that work for you.

I don't think there will be much interest for brandable domains either, professional SEO companies don't need that.

Focus your energy on other things.

That's what I would do.
