Until last year it was possible to do a renewal fee check using a URL http://www.enomcentral.com/domains/dotTV.asp?domain=name_to_check.tv
There was a post here about Coventry.TV Coventry.TV being available but that the renewal had recently been doubled.
As a Coventry Kid (confession 1) I went to check this out - yep $1000 renewal. Out of curiosity I also checked the smaller nearby Town with sporting connections (Rugby - the birthplace of ... Rugby). This was so cheap I wanted to buy it. But it wasn't available! So, before spreading the word that Coventry.TV was available I wanted to make sure it really was. Check it out into the Cart. Then disaster ... go directly to sale, do not pass options, they will collect 1000 dollars.
The small print was very small and this procedure totally unexpected.
But ... no problem ... a genuine mistake easily rectified.
Much correspondence later I still have Coventry.TV and DM still have my $1000.
I should be grateful it wasn't business.tv.
Quinn Daly was kind enough to reply that this should never happen again and shortly thereafter the renewal fee check ceased to function. (confession 2).
So now I apologise belatedly for my contribution to intransparency.
The good news is ... Coventry.TV is now available for sale at sedo
Coventry.tv is for sale here
It's a steal
