Selling - Question - With backstory

Hello NamePro community! I've been a long time lurker hoping someone could help me with a couple questions.

A couple years ago I was developing an Android App and wanted to purchase a domain name to go along with it. The name I wanted to use for my domain was already in use, for the story lets call it fakename.com. The domain name was just a series of letters and did not have any trademarks or anything associated with it.

The current owner had a standard template e-mail on his site if you were interested in buying it (fakename.com) to contact him. Before I contacted the owner I noticed the .net and .org wasn't taken, so I said what the heck it's only a few bucks and I like the name, so I registered fakename.net & fakename.org.

When I tried to contact the seller I never got a response, now fast forward 6-8 months later, that owner of fakename.com ended up selling the name to another business.

Since this business is completely unrelated to my Android App vision and I don't own the .com I would like to contact them and see if they are interested in buying the .net and .org.

My original intentions were never to be a cybersquatter or look for a pay day or anything. In my head I figured I could probably buy the .com from the original owner for a few hundred bucks. From a legal perspective if I contact the business asking them if they are interested in the .net or .org would this be considered cybersquatting or would I be breaking any ICANN rules?

I've had both domains around 3 years now.

Given the registration was in good faith you shouldn't find that you have a problem unless you do something that makes yourself noticed in a negative light (don't slander, phish, interfere with their business).

You should be able to offer them for sale; however, you're going to be limited by the fact that they don't need the .net or the .org as they have the .com. As long as you're not greedy you should be fine. If you went in with a large $ number you may be on the bad end of a verbal beat down.

Their existence does hurt your chances of selling the names in general. I'd be inclined to give them a low buy it now offer and then wait... my final act would be to offer them both at the cost of a backorder sometime a month before I drop them.

It's very hard without knowing what FakeName.com is though.
