I wasn't sure exactly where to put this at because it's so general, but it's a newb question so I decided to put it here, I hope that's ok.

So, yeah I have a fully developed website + domain that I want to sell. Includes unique scripts, design, coding, some content etc, etc.

Only problem is the site is currently unhosted, and I would preffer not to waste money hosting it just to attempt to sell it not knowing if it will sell and for how much.

My question is how can I get around that, is there a good way I can show off the basis of my website without hosting it? It's php and other custom scripting, for some reason I can't even open the index from the zip, I was thinking about opening the index and creating a pic, but the index won't even open for some reason. What can I do, or what should I do?

if you're selling the domain with the site, be sure to show off the site! you can host it for free at a few places since uptime/reliability/etc isn't a big issue. there's zeeblo.com and frihost.com, just to name a couple.

Thanks for the info. I kind of need to get this sold fast though, so those sites won't work for me. Is it possible to upload a server backing to a site like angelfire or something?

not sure what you mean by upload a server backing, but sites like angelfire require you to pay to for php to work. the sites i mentioned above are like angelfire, except offer php hosting for free. getting an account and setting up with those sites should be as easy as setting up an angelfire account.

I know there's plenty of people that allow you to sign up for "free hosting" for a couple of days or so. Check out the webhosting offers section.

Netfirms.com has a deal right now for hosting + 2 free domain regs for $10 USD for a year, and no ads. Choose "advantage" hosting package and put in the code- MAX2 at the checkout. Not a bad deal and you get 2 free regs. I've used Netfirms for hosting for about a year and it's worked out well for me.
good luck
