Sell through eBay?

Does anyone have any expericance of selling domain names through eBay?

I have been surfing around on eBay for a couple of days but it seems as if there are mostly "fantasy prices". Sellers ask for $1.000.000 for "not-so-good" names and buyers are offering $1 for quite good names...

Hmmm... Been looking to sell my domain name but eBay really doesn't seem to be the place. Any thoughts?

Yeah I've got to agree i don't think ebay is a good place to sell domains. I don't think i've ever seen an auction for domains go over 1000 dollars. Simply because there is so many different domains for sale that they don't all get shown to the people who are going to bid. Plus they know that if they don't win one there will be another in a few days.

The domain market on eBay is similar to other industries selling products on eBay.

As a shopper, you have a lot to choose from, most are not worth their starting bid price. But if you have the patience or luck you can find some great deals from time to time.

As a seller, you won't get top dollar for your name but there are plenty of domain buyers that are willing to pay low reseller pricing.

I have sold dozens of names on eBay, ranging from $1.25 for one to almost $6000 for another. For the best results, put together an attactive ad that touts to many uses of your domain. Creating a logo or one-page site can definately help your name sell.

Give it a try and post your experience!

speaking of logos....try www.thelogocreator.com

It's cheap and I even used it to create the Topnames logo.

It's probably not the best place. But it depends on your domain, how much you're asking, and who finds it. eBay and Escrow seem to have ended their partnership, as Escrow.com is no longer mentioned on eBay. So I'm not sure how you would handle a high dollar domain sale on eBay.
