This is an open invitation to NamePros members to join with me as Founding Members of the Domain Name Owners Association.

Read about the full mission of the organization here.

There are several benefits to joining, especially for current NamePros members. Your NamePros trader rating can be carried over onto your DNOA Member Profile and we'll also be displaying the DNOA Certified Seller seal here at NamePros in the near future.

Please see the web site at www.dnoa.org for full details about the organization's purpose and member benefits. We are currently in a organizational pre-launch phase and still have several vital issues that are to be decided that will shape the future of this organization. (Consequently, if you run into any problems using the site, do contact [email protected] for assistance.)

The cost is only $6.95 for a full year membership and by joining now you will be named as a Founding Member for as long as you remain part of the association. Please use this link to login using your NamePros username. This will ensure your NamePros account is linked to your DNOA account: http://www.dnoa.org/login.php

I'm putting my full support behind the launch of this organization and am hoping to see many other members from NamePros and other domain industry sites get involved. Please do consider joining today.

Sincerely,

Ron James

Do try logging in at http://www.dnoa.org/login.php with your NamePros info. If you can't or get an error, you can write me and I'll investigate. The backends of DNOA and NamePros were recently connected, so there may be so bumps to smooth out.

The DNOA signup has been functional for the first few members that have joined, but if any problems I can still enroll members manually if needed.

RJ

Please enroll me manually. For some reason it keeps looping me back to "login" after I login and click join.

Thanks RJ

-RJ- manually updates the users so they show, as soon as he is around he will upgrade your membership.

well i hope the rules are enforced vigourously rather than letting any old chancer stay a member just to chase the nickels and dimes.

Its one thing to be a member of a forum which is unreflective of individual members but its another to be a member of something where all could be judged on the behavior of just one...

Not a dig RJ, as i am sure you'll know, just a constructive comment which i hope you'll take on board. There must be, from the outset, "a dispute resolution policy" which sets out for all to see EXACTLY what happens in times of a complaint against a member. And this dispute resolution policy cannot be some ad-hoc decision made by a 'forum leader' or likewise.

i.e. "I bought a domain from 'x' who mis-represented the sale". No point looking at individual facts, for setting precedents all over the place in something like this will open a can of worms for you. You must state in times of dispute 'these are the steps or policies for which we will follow'...

Great idea, but from practical, non-online experience, you gotta think this through thoroughly. If you have then disregard my comments

First online meeting

Whoa...That Ghost is scarry...I've just signed up and I noticed on the home page it says the first online meeting is February 16, 2005.

Is this a misprint or have I already missed the Organizers conference and founding members meeting?

All in all the site looks good! This organization provides a concept that is needed in this underhanded world.....Thanks!!

You haven't missed anything yet. We are going to have an online conference still this year.

Instead of spending the money to verify the mailing address why not just spend it to verify the phone number? Anyone could receive a package for someone else, or signup for a PO Box...

faisj is just my forum name, but i would like it to say: evibe (my company)
At the time being, it runs off of a variable that inserts your username. There are a few meetings coming up for founding members of the organization, so that might be one of the things that can be brought up. If you cannot attend the meeting, I'm sure that you can either email RJ or leave a message with me, and I'll make sure the issue is at least considered.

:)
