I'm in the middle of 2 separate email rallies with people at Sedo, and all of a sudden all my emails to sedo are bouncing back!

Code:
  [email protected]
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<[email protected]>:
    host mail2.affili.net [195.189.236.234]: 550 Host-Lookup-Failed:
Reverse DNS lookup failed for xxx.xxx.xx.xxx (failed)

Don't make me pick up a phone Sedo . . . really now . . .

I'm new to the domaining biz, but Sedo seems to have grown too big to handle their operations properly.

I had a domain which I wanted to park, and they said they need to verify it. It must be a month now and the name is still up for verification,
EVEN THOUGH I TOOK IT DOWN TWO WEEKS AGO, cuz I got tired of waiting for them.

What's stranger is that even though they said my domain is not for sale during the time of verification, a check shows that IT WAS up for sale, at the mysterious price of $1,000, which I never gave permission for.

So what's that all about?

Previous owner has it in a Sedo account. Do you have whois protection? They can't verify it and place it in your account if you do. You will need to contact them or edit the whois to match your Sedo account.

I see. Thanks.

But I don't have whois protection on this one, and there was no problem for the few domains that I do have whois protection.

What's more, the Way Back Machine shows no record of the name being used in the past.

Doesn't matter. I'm doing this as a hobby anyway, so I'm not going to bother too much about it.

Thanks again.

I don't believe archive.org indexes parked pages.

Previous owner didnt delete the name from his sedo listing. Send email to [email protected] with your domain name and they'll take care of it immediately.

What's the IP beside Reverse DNS lookup ? The issue could be on your end.

I see.

Thanks for all the replies.

It would do Sedo's customer service a world of good though if they could communicate these things to you via a support desk. When I emailed them the last time I got no reply.
