Sedo Question

I received my first offer at Sedo today and, as a result, I now have two questions.

Question #1: When I view the offer screen it shows their offer minus a big Sedo fee. The domain is parked with Sedo, I was under the impression that if you were parked there then only a 10% fee was charged. Is there a certain time period to be parked with them before this rule applies?

Question #2: How come when I hit the "Cancel Negotiation" button I get an error message saying that I have to set an asking price before I can cancel negotiation? I went in to my domain management screen and set a minimum offer then tried to go back and cancel the negotiation and it still wouldn't let me.

Please help!

First of all you don't say what the ext is, sedo charges a min of 10% on most ext's but there are some exceptions as to what the min will be - See here: http://www.sedo.com/services/prices.php3?tracked=1&partnerid=13104&language=us

Secondly, Sedo now have a policy under the offer/counter offer, that you have to counter offer before you can cancel a prospective sale. If the initial offer is nowhere near what you would accept then counter with something you would accept and see what happens.

Thank you.

I checked that list though and the extension in question falls under the 10%. My offer was in british pounds, does that make a difference?

Also, if I make a counter offer then they accept it wouldn't that mean they get the name for that price and I couldn't do an auction? I'll just throw a huge counter offer that I know they won't accept and then try to cancel.

It's too early to sell anyway as I haven't owned this name for 60 days.

Okay, .asia is 10% or a min of $100 whichever is the greater so if you accepted an offer of $150 you would end up with $50.

Basically on any .asia sale up to $1000 you will be paying the min $100, any sale beyond that will revert to the 10% of the sale.

One last question...if you were to send a domain to auction that you were only willing to push and not transfer, are you allowed to work that out with the winner of your auction?

If the domain is still under the 60day registration rule and the prospective buyer has done his homework then he/she should already be aware of this.

Most buyers are happy to have the domain pushed rather than transferred as it saves on extra cost's. The only time this may be a problem for the buyer is if the domain is registered at some obscure registrar or they are unable to hold an account at the current registrar.

Actually I counteroffered and they cancelled the negotiations. I think it was a domainer that made the offer because it was insanely low for the name in question.
