SEDO Not Replying to Auction After Payment Sent: 5+ Days??

Ok, this is quite disturbing and I need advice.

I won an auction from a seller I know, and we processed the transaction via a Sedo auction. I paid right away after the auction ended. The friendly seller (he has been communicating with me, and absolutely no problem with him) has told me that the name was pushed successfully to Sedo several days ago. Nevertheless, Sedo fails to complete the transaction, and this email from this [email protected] character hasn't been replied for over 5 days.

Anyone know what I should do? The name is paid, but they haven't asked me ANY details yet where to push, nor replied to my questions. To describe their incompetency and my feelings now would take pages, but I expected better service from a renown company.

The last email I received was something really trivial for which I haven't received a reply yet...:

You have listed a US address but have selected Canada in your Sedo account. Please
update your address details.

Now, they asked for a residence address [canada] (set in my profile years ago) and while this is my first purchase on Sedo, they prompted a billing address, for which I put my company's billing address [US]. I told them I'd be glad to edit the address if they want the same info for both, but they don't allow editing the country name once selected. So I really don't know what to do, emailing this one "dover" person is pathetic, I thought they'd have a support system where this can be done more professionally. >:(

Again, all this occurred last week and all I got was an automessage since then.

Any thoughts or suggestions for action? This is a mid $xxx transaction.

Related to Phil Macavity :) Naughty - slapped wrist:!:

Simple answer, don't sell/ buy via Sedo over the holidays - they will be "short staffed" - means closed. And the site is already playing up. :hi:

Interestingly, a google search on "Dover" comes up with this album title for a song:

Albums: I Was Dead for 7 Weeks in the City of Angels[....]

Thanks to Mara's intervention yesterday, my latest sale got progressed in under an hour whereas previously I had been waiting for nearly a week following my push of the name into Sedo's account.

Well done Mara - excellent service.

Now I've been wallowing for a bit longer so emailed dover again (yeah yeah yeah - got assigned to her this time apparently. Last time was Tom, much faster...) and got this autoreply:

Dear Sedo customer,

Thank you for your email.

Due to an abnormally high email volume, we are currently experiencing delays in response time.

Please note that we are processing all requests and are aware of the current situation.

Response times at the moment are between 2-3 business days.

If you have an inquiry about the status of an open domain transfer, please refer to your Sedo account for an update.

Thank you for your patience in the matter.

Regards,

Sedo Transfer Team

I know it's the Holidays, but sheesh...

About to hit the 2 week mark, and I don't think that this one is a "walk-away" bidder...

Ms/Mrs. Dover- all these missed opportunities to respond - not doing your rep any good at all!

For some time now, whenever a transaction is supported by Dover and the transfer experiences 'unnatural' delay, I will always send a CC of my inquiry email to some other rep that I have good experiences with. And I always receive a (helpful/apologetic) reply from them, never from Dover..

After a couple of major fiascos, I specifically asked that Dover not handle any of my transactions any more. So, they apparently gave me account over to some other inept person.

Sold a domain on November 15, payment to Sedo made on the 22nd, and still waiting for payment from Sedo. I have emailed this rep, Gasber, numerous times and he emails back about one to every four I send.

I've contacted my account Mgr. here in the US and even a person I know in Cologne about this. They have been quick to respond and tell me they'll get Gasber on the ball but no response.

Last I was told they were waiting on the buyer to transfer the domain name. What the hell is that all about??? Buyer paid so pay the seller. Not my fault the buyer, whom I do not even know nor have no way of communicating with, has not transferred the domain name yet. I have had sedo place domains into their account from a seller waiting to transfer them to me. Why is this any different???

I suggested that they, sedo, take control of the domain name as an account change and deal with the buyer. Holding funds waiting for a buyer to transfer more than 30 days is absurd.

If my names weren't doing so well on Sedo parking, I'd be gone. I have had one transaction take as much as 94 days. This is ridiculous.

I am convinced that they put the money in a money bearing trust account or fund that pays net 30 days. I have had a grand total of two transactions take less than 30 days and those two people probably got fired.

I don't even understand how it's POSSIBLE to have as poor of customer service as Dover has. My job is a customer service job, and I handle 100 emails a day on top of about 80 phone calls and sending out a bunch of requests via fax and email. Is Dover in a coma? Drooling from the mouth? Twiddling thumbs? I could understand if Sedo was based in CA, USA as it took me 6 months to fire an employee from hell, but I can't imagine employees have MORE rights and power in Germany than in California. Ask anyone here, it's a pain in the ass to have to fire someone!

I think we have now established thet Dover does not actually exist and is simply a name used by Sedo to stall a sale/buy for whatever reason . B-) JMO

Merry Xmas
