Sedo confusion

I tried to enter my onlinecasino.co.in onto the Sedo premium auction, the response i got was they only accept premium dot com or sometimes extremely premium .co.uk or .de, all other extensions were not being considered,so the only way i could get this domain to auction would be if someone made an offer and i accepted that as the reserve and put it to auction, fair enough i thought if that's the rules then so be it.
However i was looking on Sedo today and found this

http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_detail.php?language=us&auction_id=1140&tracked=&partnerid=

Now, 3 bids and the reserve is NOT MET, this is a .co.in domain, yet,as the reserve is not met it is clearly one of Sedos premium auctions, otherwise the reserve would have to have been met.
This contradicts everything they have been telling me.
:(

Added ... after looking closer it appears there are many more including .cd extension.although undeniably good keywords, the fact is this goes against what they have been saying all along!!
photo.cd is premium yet onlinecasino.co.in and darts.tv are not?????

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
Me too. Quite confusion for this

And some bidding are for 10days, or even 14 days. Don't know why and how to extend my Domain Bidding period to that

I really understand your position Stoneroses and i myself as well find it mind boggling confusing what the philosophy is of Sedo's staff that submits these "Premium" domains into auction.
Their standards as been described in the newsletter:

If you have a premium domain name (preferably a one-word .com, .net or a popular ccTLD like .de or .co.uk) and a reasonable reserve price, you can contact a Sedo broker to list this name in our auction even without having received a bid. With these brokerage auctions the domain is only sold if the reserve is met through the auction.

And then you see a domain like ecards.name as a Premium domain :-/ This clearly contradicts their own mentioned standards.

Remember all domains with a Yellow icon are considered Premium by Sedo's brokers.

Because these domains have not MET their reserve price. This can ONLY be done if a domain is being regarded as Premium and being incorporated into the auction by Sedo's brokers.

All domains that have green icons listed next to them have arrived into auction by a placed bid through the traditional offer/counter system and the seller decision to push the domain into auction.
This can be either done immediately after the first bid or after multiple bids...either way this will always result in a domain being listed with a green icon thus with a reserve.

Yellow icon means regarded as Premium domains and submitted to auction by Sedo's brokers with a pre-arranged reserve.

I have send numerous emails to one particular Sedo broker and have not yet received a single response.
Excellent service! :'(

It does appear that domains are being listed without regards to the requirements as has been described in their OWN policy and that brokers submit domains to the auction to their own discretion.

I have kept my eye on the domains that are being listed as Premium and i have seen enough instances where they clearly aren't.

I submitted some extremely good names to them in .info. They replied that they were only accepting premium names and premium TLd's. I asked them to describe what constitutes a premium name or TLD. I also asked them to look over my portfolio which is parked with them on sedopro parking to tell me if any would qualify. I received no resonse to my request after almost a week. :(

there could be a lil spoils system going on with the people picking premiums letting their friend's names in, idk, but they can refuse what ever they want so ...

Yup, they just did the same to me for an LLL .com.

To be honest I think its a bit of a joke and I'm a bit pissed at it. Then they say they will charge me $50 minimum or 10% of the final value - I thought if names were parked with them (which it is) it would be less than that?

I am highly suspicious of this new format, and it seems to me there is a bit of favoritism going on.

I'd rather stick it on ebay thanks. You lose this one Sedo.

Latest domain added by Sedo brokerage.

pisosdealquiler.com

Should this domain qualify if you keep the standards in mind that Sedo has mentioned?

Unbelievable,

I was told although onlinecasino is a popular search it is not one word, but apparently creditosonline.es does qualify, so i thought i would test out this reasoning ,i submitted darts.tv,1 word, popular sport with good extension, alas no room at the inn for this baby either:'( still at least i feel safe in the knowledge that whoever has Eldorado.at managed to get in :)

Freshly added. Nice keyword but not the extension they deem qualified according to Sedo's own policy.

My correspondence with a Sedo broker regarding this issue:

My correspondence with a Sedo broker regarding this issue:

You ask about the broker assisted auction. Only those top premium one word .com domains that are submitted to and approved by Sedo brokers can be listed in the Sedo auction without a reserve price first met. Thanks for your email.

So I replied:
Thank you for your reply, but I don't understand, considering the domains that are currently listed at auction as premiums. for example: lesbica.com.pt, online-shop.co.uk, alquileres.info, just to name a few.

Here's what I was told:

Those domains you see in the auction without the reserve price first met are
there because they were actually sent to auction right when our auction was
launched a few weeks ago. At this point, we are only accepting quality .com
domains as mentioned in my last email. We are just trying to limit the
amount of domains without a reserve price first listed in our auction as we
want to make sure all domains in the auction sell. I apologize for the
initial confusion.

There doesn't seem to be much consistency in how their policies are applied, does there?

It sure doesn't, in fact it's not even true what has been stated.

Those domains you see in the auction without the reserve price first met are
there because they were actually sent to auction right when our auction was
launched a few weeks ago.

initial confusion.

If this is the case why do we see non-qualified domains added that are only a few hours old?

As in the above statement says they where sent a few weeks ago. The auction starts THEN so how come we see domains with such fresh time stamps?

The latest addition is not even a day old :-/
So this can not be a domain that has been sent to auction a few weeks ago but this domain has been added just a few hours ago.

I have received a similar email when i inquired about this but seeing these type of domains being added contradicts the statement i have received and the statement i see above.

It would be nice to see this cleared up.
