I'm a little perturbed at Sedo. I have a few parked names where I was getting a certain $ a click. Not much traffic. I developed one of them as an affilate site and didn't get any sign-up so I dropped the affiliate site and went back to parking it on Sedo. Now, I am getting more click throughs and Sedo has dropped the $ per click. A few other ones are getting more clicks and they have dropped too.

Anyone else notice the more clicks you get that they LOWER your click $$?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.US domains.US domains
You can try some other parking services like Namedrive to see if your portfolio performs better there, or if you have a lot of domains you can try SedoPro (PM me for details.)

Well that doesn't seem fair.

Play nice Sedo! Maybe every advertiser in the world who is targeting you keywords sudenly dropped what they will PPC. :hehe:

The whole parking thing seems a bit bizzare to me :-/ Like you say, one minute you get high rates next month it next to nothing - one month you get thousands of views next month it is in the hundreds !!

I am starting to think parking companies just decide as they go along what you are going to get and what figures they are going to report

= Bizzare :alien:

Oh I know :hehe: I am still pretty new at this so this just confuses me. I make peanuts on the parking revenue so every little penny counts. :D

I know I shoud be grateful at all for making ANY $$ from just parking domain names. :p

This is off-topic, but I just have to do it. B-)

perturbed

Congratulations to kerrijoe for squeezing that word into a sentence. It is one of the least used expressions in NamePros history. In fact, according to the quick check I just ran....

It was used only once in 2002

It was not used at all in 2003.

It was used four times in 2004.

It was used twice in 2005.

And now... the first and only time it's been used in 2006.

Again, congratulations to kerrijoe for this terrific vocabulary achievement. :tu:

Now that is cool... Maybe NamePros should start a contest - Mystery Word - You can choose a mystery word and if someone uses it in a post they get NP$ or something, or a free domain reg...

It think it is a Ambrosial idea! Does anyone Concur or am I Unaccompanied in thinking that this might be a good Endeavor?

:D why thank you: BOWS

  ...hhahahaha laughing my butt off here! I use that word all the time! :D

....I read a lot :)

Instead of NP's for the word contest...I think the .com or other extension domain name should be the prize. :hehe:

On the other hand...I wonder how many times the word "wow" used here...

In that case.... SEX!!! :hehe:

But back to your original post, I see no rhyme or reason to the payouts on PPC sites, adsense, parking, etc... I have one parked domain that is getting me decent clicks lately, but they are always a different amount per click... some are around $0.50 and some are $0.11 (NameDrive)... and I get a lot of $0.03 clicks on Sedo pages... and I got a click the other day on a ND parked page that was $1.59... so who knows, maybe they adjust the amount they charge advertisers frequently enough to change the amounts they pay out on a day to day basis???

I guess I just misunderstood the whole thing, I didn't realize that the sedo amounts would change Day to Day like the google adwords do. I don't have any high keyword clicks as yet, mine are all under 20 cents. I do have high keyword domain names but haven't received any clicks on them yet. Anyways, daily adjustments just seems extreme to me. I could see weekly or monthly though.

Just to clarify, I do not know for sure that they do make adjustments daily, I am just guessing based on the daily fluctuations in PPC pay outs...

For example, one of my poker domains almost always paid $2.00 per click... for a few months I got about 4-5 clicks and was pretty happy, then it started to drop to about $1.40/click... still pretty good, but obviously $2.00 is better than $1.40... I ended up selling the domain so I am not sure if the downward trend continued... it is a very confusing business...

Oh ok thanks for the info. Sad to say but I'll bet the trend is downwards as there are just thousands of poker/casino domain names now.

PPC Revs are a great mystery... I'm relatively new as well at all of this. Came in from an end-user perspective and was astonished at being told that all I had to do was Park my domain for FREE with any one of these PPC Guru sites and start shoveling cash.

I've gone through a few of them and have found ONE consistant truth... I have ALWAYS, EVERY TIME, WITHOUT FAIL made more PPC Rev on sites that I have developed myself with PPC ads on board and adsense and affiliates than I have EVER, EVER made on a PPC Parking Site.

I make more money in a single day with Adsense than I make in a Quarter with PPC Parking. My primary site along knocked down just under $140 bucks last month by itself, a frail, insignificant amount by some of these guys standards but a total newbie with less than 3 months of really, truly being involved with the PPC Rev game?

You need to put things in perspective... Guys that earn 1000s of dollars per month do it with MANY MANY more sites than you and I have put together and multiplied times 3. They earn similar earnings but do it on a grand scale, perpetually turning PPC Rev into additional domains to generate more income. That takes time. Consider the many 1000s more sites they have bought and disgarded because of low or no PPC Rev.

That creates that huge disconnect between people like you and I that walk into this world hearing stories of domains selling for a Quarter Million Dollars and people earning $5K a month in PPC Rev and the reality we find when we grab up a domain and do exactly what is more often than not presented... Just Park and Earn.

Flip the Mirror a bit and see that companies that provide that park-n-earn service for you and your 1 (or more) sites have many thousands of times MORE people like you all parking with them while THEY earn a piece (what, 50%?) of your PPC Rev.

You may make $.10 cents on a click but the 150,000 other people just like you perturbed by the measly dime they earned yesterday translates to $15,000 in PPC Revs earned by your Parking Partner... or more... EACH DAY.

In the words of Mel Brooks... "It's Good to be da King"

Get from where you are to where THEY are and you'll be one of those singing the praises of PPC Rev. Until then, just keep investing, learning and try to keep your losses at a minumum.

Best,

GoPC
