I just had another lowball offer for a premium .com on Sedo that I will turn down however Sedo has placed a 50% commission if I decide to sell. Whats the deal with a 50% commission and when did this start with sedo?

50% to sell a domain? whats that all about!???

i think if it's not parked at sedo they get that commission from you, you should be using sedo's dns to make it lower.

lol - 50% commission, that's absurd.

Sedo's fees vary by extension, but I have never heard of 50% fee.

There is a flat 10% fee on domains sold on Sedo if they are parked there.

There is a 10% fee (minimum $50) if the domain is not parked there. Therefore you need a $500+ sale to break even.

ah i see
I forgot to change name server info to park at sedo. oops.

Also it looks like the higher the $ value when I counter that the commission drops.

The offer was $100 (f'ing joke) and I countered for $15,000.00 that meant the commission droped to 10%.

But still the initial $100 offer was 50%, man o man

There is a minimum $50 fee if the domain is not parked with Sedo. If the domain sells for over $500 it makes no difference. It only matters if the sale is below that.

Examples -

1.) Domain Parked on Sedo sells for $100 - 10% = $90
2.) Domain not Parked selles for $100 - $50 minimum = $50

I couldn't see any mention of it in the link weblord posted, but doesn't the domain need to be parked at sedo for 30 days or so to avoid the $50 minimum?
Or has that changed?

I'm a little curios what this domain is now, willing to share?
Do you guys experience these kind of low ball offers often?
