Imagine you are an end user or a newbie trying to find the ideal domain on the major platforms Sedo, Afternic etc.

Try a search on any of them for a single keyword, try "hotels" for instance.I would have thought all the exact keyword(s)should appear first in the list whatever the extension followed by "hotels" whatever the extension etc etc.

It is not the case, .com.,net.org .us come up at Sedo and then a great many unrelated .com, Afternic is worse.

It appears that if your name is in other than the chosen extensions then it is unlikely to be seen.

I am fairly sure that in the past a search for a "keyword" would bring up all the exact names regardless of extension,to the top of the search list.

I had wondered why my names(I have many single keywords various extensions)were not getting the attention they used to have.

Not really sure what you are getting at?

I am actually quite surprised at the lack of interest with respect to the world's biggest domain sellers failure to make their domain search more exact. As I said if you have anything other than .com your name(s) will get lost in a pile of unrelated names that come up in the initial search.

Funnily enough Sedos latest newsletter actually refer to "Navigation Nightmare" but not for their domain search.

Just to clarify. If I search for "music" I would expect the search to show Music.com, .net. .org etc music.cctlds, .tv, .mobi etc and then perhaps show the likes of musicxxxxxx. Nope, if you want the specific word cctld for instance these, plus many others, show up on the first page: zemusic.com,xxmusic.com etc etc.

Is it really only me that is concerned. :cy:
