The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

It has some nice metrics with 110k exact monthly searches and $2.56 CPC. It is tough to compete in the travel space with the big boys and a .us but I'd venture mid to high $xx for a reseller and low $xxx to an end user.

Nice name, but the .us weakens it. Agree with the xx-low xxx valuation.

What about SEO opportunities?

What about them? It's up to whatever kind of site is built there and how it's promoted. For that particular keyword, you're up against the likes of Expedia, Marriott, Tripadvisor, Embassy Suites, Ritz Carlton and Yahoo. That's the big leagues - a keyword domain alone won't make a dent there.

Low $xx. IMO.

The fact that all other extensions are parked, should tell you that end users are not jumping to get into this name. If an end user does decide to get into this name, they will start with .COM and work their way down.

This leaves you holding the bag and eventually taking a loss due to renewal rot. Personally I would try to get out of this for low $xxx during the first year and make sure autorenew is off (in the event I'm unsuccessful at selling).

However, you will need to me highly proactive to move this mediocre domain.

Toolbar pagerank is pretty much a toy and has little to do with actual rankings.

All those sites I mentioned are old, established, authoritative domains managed by expert SEO teams. The odds of beating them for a high value keyword because of ONE ranking factor (keyword domain) are not good, to say the least.

I stand by my appraisal, but good luck with it!

"100000 exact US searches"

Where did you get these figures from?

for EXACT searches in the US I get 2,400 a month. You're either lieing or using the tool wrong.

P.S. There is 90,500 BROAD searches... these are far from the same.

Anyway, to avoid trolling I'd value this at low-mid $$ - .US extention doesn't help plus Google MIGHT be bringing in advert results for geo searches.

So, does it mean that all sites GEOhotels.*TLD have no value in general?

Yes they have value, but the further removed you get from .com for Americanised or international domains the less money you can ever hope to get.

LondonHotel(s).co.uk is bloody nice and I would have no problem in finding a buyer for it even though Expedia and that lot are already in the game because it is so bloody obvious what it is, and someone simply guessing and stumbling around the internet could find it. If a hotel chain sticks that above their door then absolutely everyone will be in no doubt about it and never mistake it for anything else.

SanJuanHotels.us means someone will first go to the .com, then maybe the .net then think to themselves "oh f**k it, I'm going to Expedia" simply because they never think of the .us extension.

I would say to get this dumped quickly for whatever price you can pick up before you start throwing good renewals after bad.

I'll try to create small site or park it to collect stats...

Thanks for appraisals
