Been a while since I was more active in auctions...

In general for an "average" name with 3 bidders:

- Do they set a proxy bid & wait til the auction ends?
Or is someone actively bidding?

- Do they pay top dollar or not?

I like the dutch auctions - you hang on as the price drops, and then kick yourself when someone grabs it before you. The other alternative is the renewal of the name in the last couple of hours - why do owners leave it to the last minute?

i think initially, it's a proxy bid
and depending on the name, probably somebody watches as well

been dueling with sd, for years on names

and i think they will pay, whatever they think it's worth, give or take some $

imo...

I seem to have won the domain, being the earliest bidder, no other bids

But WTF Namejet...no notification, no nothing saying you have won. Name of domain just disappeared from "my auctions", "Auctions report" or under any other tab...

So when is the earliest you know you've won?

btw: i bidded on a couple at snap other day and one went to auction, got email soon after close of initial offering
