Unlike many registrars, GoDaddy doesn't allow for domains in grace period to be transferred out. Don't believe us? Check out what ICANN says about that.

My domain expired and sold for $15,000 in GoDaddy auctions
It's a domain investor's worst nightmare when a domain they didn't intend to let go expires. It becomes true hell when that expired domain is then sold at a GoDaddy auction for a cool $15,000 dollars!
