FOX.mobi now live.

(thanks to Martin for the catch)

FOX.mobi -- no redirects.

FOX.mobi looks great...watch your favorite shows...

The integration of the mobile Web & mobile TV is emerging and dotMobi is at the nexus in this case.

This might be the one that brings mobi mainstream. Auction fiasco? What auctions?

Actually interesting use of mobile web. After a little research m.fox.com and foxmobile.com all have the same site up with no redirects from any of them. Maybe they are running tests to see which one to promote?

Well...I gotta ask but doesn't the fact that the header image is FOX MOBILE and foxmobile.com resolves to the same site bother you at all? It doesn't seem a genuine push for dot mobi if they are pushing the mobile dot com over the mobi extension.

If they're testing the sites I reckon you'll have all the t**ts from the ".com or dead squad" accessing the site over & over at m.fox.com ;)

We'd better all log on to fox.mobi 10 times a day for the next few months ;)

Great news though, the potential boost for .mobi is HUGE!

Just compare:

fox.mobi
foxmobile.com

Even you .mobi hater can't argue that the first one is the better name..

To take on a "reality moment"! You have to look at this from the point of view at Fox.... The truth is they couldn't give a stuff how people access the site... they want to cover all bases & thats exactly what they have done; given everyone the free choice as to how they access the site....
The same site, various options as to how you get there..
Perfect business sense.... no need to change this arrangement at all... exactly how much will it be costing Fox to have a few domains pointing at one site? Pennies!..... as long as the site is a mobile enabled site it's great news for .mobi fans as the hard part of all this debate isn't whether we should use m.site.com or site.mobi it's whether there is a need for mobile enabled sites (we are far too familiar with the call of the Commies.... 'look at me; I can view a full size web site on my iphone' ;)

If the Fox site is a success it will set a precedent for running a full-size site & a mobile 'lite' site.... to offer 'choice' = 'both' options....
It matters not so much that people have a choice, but that they do indeed have that choice to make!

& that my friends is far more important that how people choose to get there......

Exactly. That's why in my view this isn't "great" or "excellent" news mobi. It's Fox hedging their bets with multiple outlets for the mobile space. This seems to be the trend of most popular mobi sites.

dotMobi is at the nexus in this case.

No it's not the Nexus that's just your wishful thinking.

Jesse, viewing mobisodes, shows on mobile is here...

not only FOX.mobi, but also, go look at UFC.mobi or TBS.mobi or even, USANetwork.mobi

said sites blend the mobile Web & mobile TV at a .mobi address

I think, I prefer the open-minded, liberal Labrocca of yesteryear...

After the recent news of sportsbook.mobi I feel I must recant my statements. I am a domainer first and foremost and I like to do my research and check things out before I endevour into things. I lost $300k a few years ago in a business I shouldn't have started...it makes one more cautious to lose that much money. That being said...being overly cautious can be just as much a problem.

For every Titanic there is a Microsoft. Seems I missed the boat here.

So...I publically apoligize to all mobi enthusiasts for pissing them off so much the past 2 months. I still think my arguments and logic were very good but market forces are the true tell. The market has spoken. Will it last? I don't know. At this point I feel it's too late for me. I can't afford to drop $xx,xxx buying resale names and I am fairly sure all great names are taken. I am not the needle in the haystack kind of guy.

Anyways..thanks for reading. I was looking forward to an "I told you so" post at some point but instead I got the egg on my face.

phh.....gonna go stand in the corner now with my dunce cap on

Given the choice to ignore or utilize, FOX chose to utilize. That's positive from every conceivable angle. How significant this is will be determined over time. But for now, it's very good news. FOX adopting dotMOBI will lead to other media giants not wanting to miss the boat. Wait and watch.

Actually I think it is quite signifcant that FOX, of all channels, chose to at least use mobi. They have, of the four US major networks the youngest viewers by far. I ll write your comment off not as a typical backhand bash of mobi with zero content added critique but as an innocent mistake by someone who lives in Canada and may not be familiar with the demographics of US television networks.
