Some Information on Rugby In INDIA
The British introduced Rugby to India. However it is not very popular in the country. It is mostly played in schools. Rugby is club based and national championships (South Asia) are held every year at the Bombay Gymkhana, Bombay in August.

Indian Rugby Team

India right now has a rugby union team. This is India's main rugby team. India has lost 14 matches in rugby, won 2 and tied 1. But India still doesn't have a sevens rugby team nor it does have a women's rugby team. There have been some evidence of women being trained for rugby. It is not confirmed till now that whether India has a rugby league team.

The Indian Rugby Team is ranked 86th in the world, out of 95 teams. Their captain is Nasser Hussain, nicknamed "Nino", and their coach is Willie Hetaraka from New Zealand. There are, in total, 13,200 registered rugby players in India. They were admitted to the IRB in 2001, but it took three years before India managed to win a match - beating Pakistan 56-3 in the third tier competition of the Asian Biennial tournament.

In 2005, they started their attempt to qualify for the 2007 Rugby Union World Cup, but a 22-36 loss to Kazakhstan sent them out of the running for that tournament. They also disappointed with a 8-8 tie in Guam, but still finished second in their group of four teams thanks to beating Malaysia 48-12 - a massive improvement, as only two years earlier Malaysia had beaten them 20-13 in a friendly. However, as only the top team in the group qualified for the next stage, India were out. Their current record in IRB-recognised internationals is two wins, one tie, and fourteen losses.

at the moment it ahs hardly any value, but in ten years time rugby could have progressed in india so id advise to keep it for a while

01wojtowicz: Keep it for ten years? And then sell for small, small; profit. Personally i think this is not the best idea to spent $80~ on renewing.

I dont like this one im afraid, Reg Fee and advisable to let it go unless you have sources that Rugby in India will become popular within a year or two.

I do not know why Rugby isnt popular over there, Coming from an Indian origin and visiting frequently i would think an Indian Rugby team would rock. But it seems not.

flubber, i think rugby will be a sport that is up there with football (soccer) soon, so i recon it will make a profit even if it is kept for 10 years...make it into a site with some adsense on and youll probabaly bve able to amke enough money to renew it each year.

Sure; Holeinone if you're a patient guy then it might be the right option. If you think about it the renewal fees wont be too much.

However, if you're not the kind of person to keep a domain for that long, and little potential/chance that it will take off then maybe it best to offload it.

The fact it was an active site will of course help you, try parking it up and see if you can get any hits. If so :)

I realise you live in India Holeinone, so you can probably Dev and get a few friends to sign up, whats the say it wont become very popular in India. Just look what the world cup did for England Rugby.

India not getting in the Rugby Union World Cup however is a drawback, if they did succeed in getting into the world cup i would have no hesitation in saying Develop and rake in the revnue - however this has not happened so i am still going to stick with my original appraisal of not keeping it for a good while.

If you want to do a small dev, go ahead and im sure you can sell as a mini-site quite nicely. However if you're the patient kind of guy with a fair amount of funding, bulk renew it for a few years - and hope :)

Hope ive helped,

Flubber

i'll go ahead and list it on SEDO and wait for the right end-user buyer :)

and if you are in hurry i guess you are not making more than low xx :)

Its hard for rugby to get famous in India in presense of Cricket. I'd say Low $xx wholesale value. Much more to an end user. Good Luck

Considering it used to be an active domain and still has backlinks, I'd say low $xx. But with the right end-user buyer, you might get something higher than that, around mid $xx perhaps.
