Hi, I am new to this forum and have already learned a lot from all of you guys. This is one of the better forums on the internet. I'm a newbie to the domain industry and have a couple of questions that I hope some of you can answer for me.

I have came into some money and wanted to start my own business; in doing so I acquired my domain name (.co) and plan on developing it into a business. While I was preregistering my .co I decided to purchase a couple others. My intentions were to sell them, but I need some advice on to what will make me the most profit(parking, developing, etc.)The .co's I purchased are based on big .com companies.

i figure a can get a lot of traffic while parked with people mistyping .com while visiting these websites or just to sell them to the company directly.

As I said before I plan on developing a .co for my business, what website builder would you guys reccommend?? Thank you

Contact the place you bought these domains and ask if they can do a Grace Delete.

1) The Type in Traffic will be almost zero.
2) Dealing TM issues is financially risky *some would say stupid*

Then go back and read more.

Easy come - easy go :hehe:

I say you should take the advice and grace delete.

Why would you want to risk having to give all your money to these big companies when they sue you for cybersquatting ?

If you have already learnt a lot from us why didn't you take the lesson of trademark domains that we preach almost every day in the appraisals forum?

It is not going to end well here, even if you do sell said domains at any time in the future someone from said company can come after you I heard for having profited.

Maybe not today, or next week or a couple of years, but someone anytime could come after you.

Get rid of the domains by grace deleting or asking your registrar to drop them.

Say I am Microsoft and you take my trademark for microsoft.co, you had better believe that I will set my 1000 lawyers that I keep around for just such occasions on you as I do not want a liability like you potentially harming my reputation.

Now I could be wrong here but when it comes to TM's the way I see it is as long has your not selling or advertising the TM's product you should be pretty safe, so lets say you have apple.co you could sell apples as in the fruit on there and you would be safe but the second you put ipads, ipods etc it's a different story inc adsense...

If you are new to domains read read read and read, I found nearly everything I needed to know on this forum and everything is usually in the Sticky Threads at the top of the pages. Also if you ask for advice you might want to accept the replies and take on board what is being said to you, I have found the guys & girls on here to be helpful and know there stuff, so if you get told grace delete I would think about it....

Please correct me on the TM issues if I'm wrong...

This is true enough Brad, but I doubt you will ever be able to sell the name because while you may only be interested in those apples the person you sell said domain to is under no obligation to your morals to not take full advantage of the name.

Where only one trademark exists it is a liability, one that I personally keep well away from but JBerry is far better suited than me for answering this most interesting of conundrums...

If you have a domain and you do use it to advertise your apple orchard, and you end up having to sell it for whatever reason are you going to get chased down for profiting on the apple name since though you did use it in a legal manner the buyer uses it illegally?

How do some people have .co names that redirect people to the .com site instead??? eg. toyotacamry.co would redirect you to toyota.com.

and thank you all for your advice. I will take everything into consideration.

and just to be clear, I think you guys misunderstood me. The .co that i registered for my business is not a TM .com. I have no intention of making a business out of the .co's that i own that are TM .com. I was just stupid and bought them because I thought i would be able to sell them to the TM company to have the .co redirected to their .com. Let the BURN begin..

It would be a good idea if you try to establish if the domains you intended to sell to these companies are actually Tm infringeing domains.
For example if you have .co domains with the companies' name or trademark in them, they would most likely be trademark infringeing domains, and trying to sell them to the respective companies would be considered as an act of bad faith cybersquatting.
