My brother in law (passed too young in 2000) was a doppelganger for Kenny. He (brother in law) did not drink but as a young single man I would seek out the 'happening' spots wherever we were and he would tag along...even though he was married to my sister and 14 years older, he still liked to have fun.

No matter where we went, later in the evening after the ladies had consumed a few cocktails, he was always asked for an autograph. He would say, "Why of course, darling". They would hand him a napkin and pen and he would autograph it for them...with his name (he never said he was Kenny...they just assumed he was). 99% of the time they never caught it...we would end up at a waffle house eating breakfast and wondering when and how they would realize it wasn't Kenny they were gushing over that night!

Rest in peace Kenny and Danny...watch out Kenny, Dan cheats when he plays poker!

His philosophy relates to domaining. "Know when to holdem know when to fold them.

Thanks for the thread and story of your look-alike brother in law @Mister Funsky , and thanks for posting The Gambler video @HotKey. I had not listened to the song for too many years. Back in the era of cassettes and music clubs, I listened a lot to a best of Kenny Rogers, but as devices changed I drifted away. What a great song, both lyrics and delivery.

As noted, much of The Gambler so true in domaining. Know when to hold em and when to fold em....every hand is a winner, and every hand a loser....don't count your money at the table.

May he RIP and his family and close friends be comforted in this time of loss.

    Bob

I grew up with Kenny's music , starting when I was 8 in 1972 when I first heard Ruby Don't Take Your Love.

Kenny knew when to Hold them, when to Fold them and now when to Walk away.
