Ridge walking

Off to the hills on Saturday. got my crampons and ice axe and am hoping for snow and ice underfoot but not in the sky. Mr blue sky will do. Will post some pics when I get back if there are any views to take.

A BRILLIANT cold exhausting day, clouding in with a bit of snow at the summit. Hard going with some soft snow on the icepack. Crampons were essential and walkers mostly wore them.

Location High Street (2700ft) fell Lake District. Access from Haweswater, Mardale Head. The rigg ridge up to Long stile. Thought we saw two eagles, may have been other large birds of prey

Came down at dusk in moonlight with everything looking either white or black.
