I watched a very interesting documentary called "Ruby Ridge"

Shortly before dawn on August 21, 1992, six heavily armed U.S. marshals made their way up to the isolated mountaintop home of Randy and Vicki Weaver and their children on Ruby Ridge in Northern Idaho. Charged with selling two illegal sawed-off shotguns to an undercover agent, Weaver had failed to appear in court and law enforcement was tasked with bringing him in. For months, the Weavers had been holed up on their property with a cache of firearms, including automatic weapons. When the federal agents surveilling the property crossed paths with members of the family, a firefight broke out. The standoff that mesmerised the nation would leave Weaver injured, his wife and son dead, and some convinced that the federal government was out of control. Drawing upon eyewitness accounts, including interviews with Weaver's daughter, Sara, and federal agents involved in the confrontation, the program is a riveting account of the event that helped give rise to the modern American militia movement.

Have you seen or read about Ruby Ridge?

Was actually reading that now. And watching the documentary on Netflix at same time.

"Harris was acquitted of all charges, and Weaver was subsequently acquitted of all charges except for the original bail condition violation for the arms charges and for having missed his original court date."

"Both the Weaver family and Harris brought civil suits against the government over the events of the firefight and siege, the Weavers winning a combined out-of-court settlement in August 1995 for $3.1 million, and Harris being awarded, after persistent appeals, a $380,000 settlement in September 2000."

Last pic of Vicki Weaver before she was killed by a sniper

The Ruby Ridge documentary was good.

The OKC documentary has some additional footage from Ruby Ridge:

https://www.netflix.com/title/80169778

Every Knee Shall Bow is a great book about Ruby Ridge as well.

Will watch that one next.

Was just reading about this today:

"A 23-year-old man who was "out for blood" when he attempted to detonate what he believed was an explosives-laden van outside an Oklahoma bank in a plot similar to the deadly 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building, authorities said Monday."

Like Waco, RR was in the press and on talk radio to the nth degree. But if they did a great job on the documentary that's nice.

Just the Wikipedia page and the documentary. Gov screwed up on that one. Don't remember watching anything at the time. Available on YouTube, second result - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ruby+ridge+documentary

Did watch the Waco siege go down live on TV.

I guess they hold off nowadays because of these past incidents, like a more current one - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupation_of_the_Malheur_National_Wildlife_Refuge
