Richard Hammond (Hamster)

I know most of the posters on this board will not know who Richard Hammond is but he is a well known Motor Journalist in the UK who presents on topgear - great programme!

He had a bit of an accident trying to achieve 300+ mph

He is alive and stable, but is still seriously hurt.

Just wanted to wish him well and my thoughts are with his family.

Like Steve Irwin, he is genuinely passionate about what he does and entertains the millions worldwide that watch the show.

My mate is mad about top gear, and when he read the news said "Yes, there's a position open!"

I love Top Gear hopefully he gets better soon. Crashing at 300mph (Said 280 in the paper) but results in a very bad accident.

Yeah best wishes to Richard and his family, I drive fast, but not sure I'd have had the nerve for that sort of speed...

my mates actually met him at a polo event a couple of weeks ago, they said he was completely plastered but a real top boy and completely down to earth, here's hoping he recovers and continues his career as a presenter.

He's been downgraded to "stable", and I hear the brain damage isn't permanent.

P.S. Jeremy Clarkson told him he was "in the hospital because [you] are a crap driver". Hammond smiled :p

Yeah its good news, seems he is getting better - but I think it will be some time before he recovers fully if he does.

Clarkson is a legend, only he would come out with something like that! - what a great primeminister he would make!

Three papers say differant things:

1 says Clarkson told Hammond that he is a s*** driver, which made Hammond smile.

The second says that Clarkson reports that its 50/50.

The third says about the brain damage. Which do we belive huh?

Good point, but this morning only one had anything on it (from what I remember), and it said Hammand was up and walking and talking, and Clarkson was watching.

Yeah, sounds like a freakin' miracle!

Clarkson was just by Hammond, when he suddenly sat up, opened his eyes and said "Where am I?".

He then joked around with Clarkson before walking to the toilet...

I remember Richard, didn't like Brainiac much though, just a rip-off of Myth Busters (long live! lol).
