I saw that retirementcommunity.com was valued by Estibot at $170,000 USD. Even though my domain is a GTLD I think there is massive potential. What do you think it's worth ?

Hello!

While Semrush reports 1.3K US monthly searches for the terms "retirement community", it reports no searhes for the terms "retire community"... I would say reg fee.

Best regards!

Hmm. Interesting but shorter is better so I kinda would hope my domain is at least worth half of what Retirementcommunity.com is worth.

Low $$$
It makes since but it doesn't, it's not a thing that someone would search for. Best of luck by the way.

Would not someone lookup "Retire in a community" near me therefore pulling up Retire.community ?

And the low $$$... Some individual on here is asking 10K for "TheExpress.com" and "Express.com" sold for 2Million.

The domain business is rather tricky but I am sure there is more opinions then one that truly counts. I don't think I would sell it for less then 5K given on account of "Retirementcommunity.com" being worth $170,000 ...

shorter is not always better

and when you short the full term, then you short it's value as well

thus, reg fee

I understand that just as the most expensive "thing" is not always the greatest "thing" but if I am a pencil manufacturing company but everyone wants pens; would not Pen.com be worth more ? Be it that it's shorter ? My point; people don't say "I want retirement" ... Most people say "I'd like to retire, and do you know of a community near me?"

you can use apples to describe oranges, and twist it till the juice comes out

but that won't make it any sweeter

cuz, t's still improper usage, and the two words don't go together to describe those places, period.

imo....

retirementcommunity.com

Versus

Retire.community

..... I am not sure I get your point because either way you'd get the same result. Ask your grandparents if there still alive whether they'd like retirement or to retire and the answer will be to retire, or they would ask you "good sir" what is the difference ? Trying to twist oranges and apples; I am not sure where that came up. The truth is I am looking for accurate and professional appraisals ... If I owned oogle.com my ppc would be through the roof but you're telling me Retire.community and Retirementcommunity.com are two different things ??? Come on man...

I'm not saying many people (or anyone) would search for "retiree community" but at least the phrase makes sense.
With an extension like community, I think you have to have *the best" form of the idea..so even retiree community probably wouldn't be great..and retire community is probably worthless just because it sounds so wrong. Sure, anyone can take an average or bad name and try to make it come up higher in the search results because it has certain keywords..but in the end, for resale value, I think you have to have the right combination.
