Restrictions on .org?

Recently I've came across a good domain which has a .org extension. My questions: Is it true that .org are for non-profit organizations only? Can I put Adsense/PPC ads and affiliate links/products on the site? Thanks.

While originally intended for use by organizations, there are no restrictions that prevent you from registering a .ORG for any "for-profit" or non-organizational purpose. You absolutely can use .ORG's to build sites containing Adsense and affiliate links.
