Are you from Europe?

In Europe banks might not have a Swift code but you can use the IBAN code and it will be exactly the same.

Can't you open another account in a bank with a swift code?

i have already 2 checking accounts - i just a couple of month opened one with a new york bank that also does not have a swift code - i can not just open accounts every time some company feels like they need additional codes - fact is they do not need the code for the wire to work - it is not a banking law it is just escrow that feels like they can bend the rules as they feel - first they say : come and use us and then they say : sorry without the code we do not pay .

Hey, I understand your frustration but you have to understand too. IBAN/Swift BIC codes are necessary to transfer money internationally in order to assure it reaches its intended destination. No doubt it can be transferred without it but there's a risk of error (misplacement), so you should definitely opt for the bank which has such facility (will save you allot of time in the future).

Now with that clear, the fault here is not your's neither escrow.com's (they are only taking assurance) but rather of that untrained dumb half knowledged customer rep that responded to your query without double checking (that's what happen when you hire lazy people).

I hope you get your money deposited asap.

Why don't you ask your bank what information is required to receive funds from Escrow.com? I have received funds from them in many different countries.

I just had something similar happen where I was distributed xx,xxx and I chose ACH instead of wire by accident. So that made it longer, but the real issue was that I got the wrong routing number. (It was a BoA to BoA transaction. I used a routing number for a different state, but still a BoA routing number.) Anyways, I had to wait a week for the money to "bounce back" but once it did Escrow.com wired it to me the same day.

Not the IBAN, but the BIC code.

actually escrow called my bank and it is true - my bank does not have a swift code ( it is not a requirement for a bank to have such thing ! )

anywho : the president of the escrow service did call me several times during the day and it seams to be resolved .
