You cannot believe what Sav.com emails you or even shows in your domain management portal. I registered 13 .com domains 46 hours ago and got an email from Sav.com showing all 13 domains had been paid for an registered. I looked in my Sav account and it showed the domains under my management.

I just pointed those domains to NP landers in my Sav account and saw that NP could not verify them. I checked the ICANN whois to confirm the name servers had been updated. Whois showed that some of those domains had never even been registered! I contact Sav chat support and they registered the domains right then. I know this because the ICANN Whois suddenly starting showing all the domains as registered. The weird thing is that the Whois now shows the registration date as 2 days ago when it should have been, even though it showed as not registered until now. Sav chat support refused to even acknowledge they had any problem and just ignored every comment and question pertaining to the real issue of them not properly registering domains that they have taken payment for and show in the customer's Sav account. The biggest issue is that those domains could have been registered at any other registrar over the past 2 days ( I checked ), even though Sav took my payment and showed the domains in my Sav account.

You are charging me to register domains and showing them as being in my account when you never even registered them!
  • You confirmed payment 2 days ago!

As we can check on our system the domains were added in your Sav account on November 15, 2024.

Duh, all fake. They were not registered at all and available to register at any other registrar!

When you check on WHOIS the domain should be registered with Sav.

That is WHOIS information which was updated a day ago.

  • Customer
    Sent at1:16 PM
Then why did whois show not registered and other registrars show available to register?

  • Customer
    Sent at1:18 PM
This is ICANN whois that showed those domains not even registered at all until I contacted you in this chat.

ou may also filter when the domain was added to your Sav account by following the steps below :1-Login to your Sav account2- Go to My Domains Page3- Click Filter Domains4- Toggle Date Filter5- Set the Acquisition Date to 15 November 2024 (This is the information when the domains were added to the account)

Just a thought, could the recent Verisign maintenance have played a role in any of this?

TBH, I wasn't aware of any maintenance until you replied to this thread:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/did-verisign-or-icann-systems-crash.1339518/#post-9292016

Spaceship tweet about it:

Yes that was exactly what it was. I would guess the domains should be in your account by now or if there was an issue you would be credited to your account. I was receiving a domain push to my Sav.com account last night around 9 PM and it wasn't showing in my account and I was notified about the maintenance:

The time frame for the maintenance is as follows: November 16, 08:00 PM – November 17, 12:00 AM EDT | November 17, 01:00 – 05:00 UTC Domain availability checks, registrations, renewals, transfers, updates, and WHOIS will not be possible throughout the maintenance window. DNS service will continue to operate normally. Please allow time for the maintenance to finish and then feel free to modify your existing .COM, .NET domains

The domain did appear in my account finally after a couple hours, but it would have been helpful if there was a pop up or highlighted message on the account page with the maintenance information.

I don't see how, since I registered these names with Sav at 2 PM on Nov 15th.

I was more so referring to the whois checks and other registrars showing them as available.

Unless the WHOIS was backdated somehow, the domain in the screenshot was registered in 2024-11-15T20:01:23Z.

Actually, Sav frequently does not register a domain when you pay for it. This is easy to verify because you don't get a verification email right away. Then I go to another registrar and register the domain. Then I get an email later on that Sav is going to issue a refund because the registration did no go through.

Many times I'll get a long delayed email from Sav that the registration did not go through and when I chat with support, they tell me that someone else registered the domain like 20 minutes before me at Sav, but their system is so flawed that it let me pay and think that I own it.

I remembered old meme from "Terminator Genesis"(don't remember number, where Daeyneris plays with Arny). Someone says Arny - "...But you are old!!!" - He says: "Old, but reliable!". Like the main words from whole movie.

Sav.com is reliable enough, as for me. But a bit RAW. But it's not unreliable....

You were rude, ignorant and arrogant. Krishna was more of a professional than you deserved.

First of all, a lot of Whois operated by registrars are not quick to update. Some names would be registered and they'd show it as available and others would be available and they'd show it as still registered.

That's likely what happened.

And the .com and net maintenance may have affected the ICANN Whois Lookup you used.

But when you were finally able to see the Whois details, it showed November 15 which was the date you registered the domain names.

Yet you still insist that Sav made a mistake. That they registered the domain names on November 17 after you "called them out" and BACKDATED it.

In other words, the registrar colluded with the registry just for the sweet, sweet opportunity to screw with you.

That is just ridiculous and delusional!

Actually, Sav frequently does not register a domain when you pay for it.

That doesn't appear to have happened here.

But if this is an important issue, and you believe it happens frequently, why are you still using Sav.com when Z.com (reg fee) is $1.99 cheaper?

Personally, I feel a lot more comfortable with Sav.com, because unlike Z.com, Sav has an active representative (@Nick R) on namePros. What is your reasoning for choosing Sav over other registrars?

In other words, the registrar colluded with the registry just for the sweet, sweet opportunity to screw with you.

That conspiracy theory would also include the registrar/Krishna colluding with whois.com.

That WHOIS.com screenshot shows "updated 1 day ago", meaning it was cached from a previous WHOIS.com query.

I just checked that same domain in WHOIS.com, and the data (still not updated) showed it was updated 2 days ago. I clicked the refresh icon next to the update time, then the nameserver change reflected, and the update time changed from 2 days ago to 1 second ago.

Hello All. I wanted to share a few general details. When you checkout at Sav, we immediately attempt to register the domain. You can verify that by looking at the creation/registration date in the WHOIS. The only common expectation to this is a registry being offline, in which case, we will hold the registration request for a few hours until the registry returns online. The contact verification email is a different process and the date that is sent is not directly correlated with the registration date of the domain.

It seems like everyone else on this thread was able to get @korganian concerns resolved - thanks!

@korganian - If I may so kindly ask, do you mind updating the title of this thread to reflect the actual outcome?
