Well, I received request from this company concerning my domain *eyekeepers*dot*com. I don`t have a clue what price to target.

Domain has low searches and frequency, so there isn`t much reseller value. But in best case name would fit to product or category, which is important for buyers business.

They have asked "how much is this name worth?" :) I have difficulties to appraise and need help from more experienced sellers. How much would you ask? Any input appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't see a great value in this domain. Everything more than $XX is good

In these circumstances you would try and get an offer from the buyer, then eventually negotiate from there. It is a niche name but there may not be many alternatives so they will certainly offer over $100.

does it have any revenue?. You could appraise it based on the revenue you are currently earning.

If you do not have revenue, I would either get the domain appraised or use some free tools that you find on the internet to gauge the value of the domain.

Ask them what they would like to offer for the domain and work around that number!.

hope it sells, good luck!.

Very low traffic and no revenue. Nothing worth to mention. Such domain has no value unless you find a buyer, who has business interest in same niche. That makes appraisal a bit difficult for me.

This is a case where existing revenue or performance may not matter that much. What matters is how useful it is for buyer-- how much buyer is willing to pay. Just like any business where valuations can vary wildly to the point that it really is up to how much the buyer is willing to pay and how much the seller is willing to let go.

That said, I'd go with the advice of others in asking them for an offer, *but* making a suggestion as to a price range you'd like (which would serve to be the starting point of the negotiation and keep them from making too low a figure that you have to start negotiating from as well).

If you did not get any other interest you could be happy with $500 ?

Endusers are hard to understand. A chiropractic may charge you $100 for 20 minuts so...try to explain them how many hours you used to find / acquire / develop / market your website when asking for an offer :hehe:

Thats true if the domain was being sold to a domainer for resale.

However, this is the end-user, a company who has pro-actively contacted you requesting a price. You can pretty much know with certainty that they would like this name to promote a particular product or service of theirs.

From a business point of view, marketing and protecting your product is not cheap. Personally i feel that if they were expecting you to offer the domain at $100 they would of simply offered you 150, and bought the domain straight up no hassle, no wasting time.

If they are a successful SME, you won't scare them off by sending an offer for around the 1000 mark or even 1.5.

You can only bargin down, not up, so don't offer the name to low.

End users is where the income is so take advantage!

Offer it to them for $1500

Thats what I would probably do as well.... a Business expense of $1,500 isnt as bad as it sounds - especially for the business that brings in quite a bit of revenue.

Be careful, because unless I'm mistaken you've linked to their site from this thread. They could track the referrer back to this forum quite easily.

well they should easily be able to pay at least 1000$, but not to scare them away, try somehow to turn your conversation over to them, so they have to make an offer.

Say something like you may have plans to develop it yourself, so you may only be interested in a good offer, and ask how much they are willing to give.
even if they only offer 100$ it's still better than any reseller would pay...

I did send him some recent $X,XXX example sales of pretty similar names and offered same level BIN accordingly. Also asked for his offer, in case he wouldn`t be ready for immediate purchase at my ask price. So, doors are open. I hope tactics will work if they have any serious interest.

Rep added to all of you. Thanks!

I'd go higher. $3,000 to $5,000. You can always fall back to $1,500.
