Type of Contest: REVISION to mobile website logo

Prize: $50.00

Contest End Date & Time : 10.00PM Board time: 9th October 2008

Size Requirements: 3 widths- 300px, 180px, 120px, height can vary

General Requirements:
I have already designed the logo below, which is close to what I am looking for, it just spells 'content'.

The logo is intended for a mobile website, and is currently perfectly aligned with each pixel, like a pixel font, so that it appears sharp.

I would like someone to revise this, improve this, give it some pop, make it stand out. Maybe add some shine/gloss, outline? or change in some way. It should stay colorful and sharp for small screens.

Hey,

Interested in this contest, but have some doubts.

Do you want it to say CONTENT? Do we need to use those colors for each letter? I take it you dont want any drop shadows or anything like that.. Just the word CONTENT?

Hi Sammy, Yes the word is- content or CONTENT
as in- ringtones, wallpapers etc.

You don't need to use those exact colors.
But it should be colorful and bright.

Drop shadows...maybe?
Not sure about just a drop shadow filter that fades away, but maybe a more solid shadow.
I can imagine some gradients in a glossy iphone/web 2.0 effect, but overall is should have more solid and bold appearance.

I chose not to just take a font and give it an outline and a gradient inside and drop shadow. the logo i want is more drawn with pixels.

Does that help explain?

Oh okay, well I think I understood..hehe...

Here is one concept, I think this is what you meant. Althought I used gradiants and highlights, I kept everything "pixel-based". Feedback appreciated.

Hi, thats getting a bit cartoony for me.

I am going to through the attached jog into the mix. i am looking at the japanese characters on the top. So if you cross this with the logo i uploaded earlier, maybe thats it.

so not one logo or the other, but 50% of both logos?

Oh ok, this is whats confusing me. The logos you attached are 100% pixel, maybe that's why you meant sharp, but the new logo (Japanese) is not pixel-by-pixel like the previous two. What I mean is that you can still create a sharp logo, without it having to be pixel-by-pixel.

Question.. Are you looking for a "pixel" logo because you think that if it's not, the logo will appear blurry?

It doesn't have to be pixel-by-pixel, as long as its sharp'ish. But as the logo gets smaller it looks nicer as a pixel logo. In the end the design is more important though. If we come up with a good solution then we can make it work. I am proficient in photoshop and will most likely make some modifications to the final winning design.

Also, if you look at the original design i did, i rounded the corners by removing a few pixels, so with regard to your design, its a little too square/blocky and a little too cartoony.

Hi, yes I the competition has ended without any substantive submissions. Since then I have been in contact with a designer on this board to work directly on this project.
