Size Requirements : Vector required due to marketing needs
Color Requirements : Needs to be neutral possible. The logo will be used in many different colors and situations. You may use colors you seem good (#44688d blue is a favorite one), but MUST work on a black or white overlay (due to site designs being changable).

General Requirements :
The organization is a animal/mascot fan-based community, as my friend describes it. The current logo (not a vector) works on the terms of being neutral and the pawprint (though not all animals have paws as such) is a general accepted image. However, it's too generic, and what's wanted is something that is iconic and somewhat unique.

An example is Second Life's logo, which is obviously a hand but uniquely made to be a representing iconic symbol for Second Life. So, you can work on the pawprint idea (a plus) or make something new. Either way, we want an icon symbol to be present with the text, and nothing too over the top (due to resizing needs).

So, as said, have fun with it. Work on a new way to present a paw print or something new. We are mainly looking on originality as Second Life has does with their hand icon (but not looking for copying and request it represents a social network community type).

EDIT: If anyone is interested in the font face being used, it's Century Gothic. Feel free to experiment with other fonts, however.

With the success of the mountain logo and the talent I see here, I've recommended a friend get a logo done here for Furmunity. Hoping all goes well, but be assured as long as conditions are met, a winner will be picked and the prize will be awarded. The industry is full of risk, I'm fine with taking one.

The logo will be used as the main branding for marketing. So, clothes, web logo, banners, icon representation, etc. Thus it must be vector.

**We'd like 3 entries before considering a winner. This could change if one of the entries works right away. The time for the contest well stay (as long as there's interest), so don't worry about it ending early.

Also, just putting this out there, but if your design is something that really aspires to us, has something unique and otherwise stands out, we'll be willing to give extra money for the extra effort. Even if it is still a simple logo, we're seeking something that helps it be unique, and icon that help identify the place and thus will be a branding tool.

No exact extra money or how we can fully determine, but if you make something that really stands out, I wouldn't mind bumping the prize to $50. Either way, $35 is guaranteed.

Very nice. I do like the artsy styling of the paw, as is what is desired from my friend and my own design ideals for the project. The only thing that's unsure is the heart type of shape in the middle. It could work, just possibly looking for another alternative.

Going on the right track, thanks for the design! All 'n all, 4/5 on approval rating.

Looking for others to join in too, surprised not too many join in being the logo contests normally get hit by a lot of entries..

I see where you got that, though that does hint to it being similar as a dating or otherwise love-related website. Though it is a social networking site, I think a more neutral stance that represents more of a animalistic approach is what we're looking for.

Maybe having the curves of the heart reversed as it then looks like a paw more so. However, I do like how (for example) the Second Life logo has an eye in it or otherwise represents the community in a sense, so it's not just a styled hand print.

The heart concept is nice, just checking options is all. From the simplicity/style perspective, you're doing a great job in helping make the logo neutral for branding needs

I like the idea of symbolism of the earth in there, but am not sure of the whole combination. It fits to what's being asked, but from a design perspective it's not really what we're looking for. We're interested in something with a stylistic design such as what Dakouten and Second Life logo has. Nt askign for copying of course, but I mean the artsy abstract part of it.

Furmunity is a social networking platform that helps others express their creativity in many different forms (forums, artwork, stories, blogs, music arcade game leaderboards, etc).

A cool idea, which I see Dakouten has made easy to do it, is to be able to slightly modify the logo for holidays/events by added a twist of symbolism for the event with the logo (such as the heart in Dakouten could be used for valentines, and maybe make more like a pumpkin thing for Halloween, etc).

Now, I'm not asking for the holiday idea, I'm just saying a flexible logo and one that helps show uniqueness (from the logo icon's concern) is a big plus. The logo will be used in all forms of branding, so flexibility for variety is always a good thing.

Thanks for all the entries and sorry for the slight complexity of the contest in terms of creativity needs. Remember that I'll pay more for creativity

My next feedback brought on an idea, and that's for Dakouten specifically (but could help everyone as well). Maybe you could try to form the lines to more of a paw (can have open breaks and the simple line style it does now, we really like the style) but sorta make the heart more like the big paw shape (sorta like turning it upside down to give that shape) and something with either the line style or within the big paw pad that gives reference to a multipurpose community (as the branding will go on banners, events, 3rd party presence, clothes, etc).

So, to everyone, we do like Dakouten's progress and would like to see others within a similar style (not copying of course) but that being, artistically abstract to form a symbolic icon.

Interesting idea, however it seems to sorta run together. That being, the paw style and the chat bubble styles are different from each other, and the color makes it hard for them to have an equal appearance.

As said interesting idea, but we're looking for something simple yet artsy, similar as Dakouten's and Second Life. Something iconic with possible implied lines to give it breathing room.

I think you should play more with the font rather than the paw print.

As you can see, this first version works fine on white & black background, but also on images.

For the second version, I had fun with colors (I can change the color scheme if you don't like it), but I wanted to represent the "animal" side in both icon and font.

Close, but I do like the open space you had (where lines didn't connect). Maybe if you could add the spacing as you did with the previous.

Also, just to see, would it be possibly to slim down the paw print a bit? That is, reduce width of the icon (line thickness is just fine). Just would like to see how that works out. Also, maybe a little less indent on the big paw pad, maybe more of a wave (that being, what's circled in red in the attachment)

The first one is nice in quality, but it does seem a little off for the theme, and lacks the symbolism we're looking for (icon is important, as we want it to help speak the name without the text).

The second one is a step in the right direction, though as I'm sure you warned, the colors are a bit much and start to make it slightly too complex and more so, isn't in the artistic direction we're currently seeking. But it does well in capturing more to what we want, so great job in that
