In order to give max number of designers an opportunity to participate and refine submissions, the contest will end exactly 10 days from start date at 7PM PST. (Since I am new to NP, I may be asked to make a deposit, so there could be a delay in the start... I don't know how this is done. In the forum rules, it says to contact RJ, and then it says that RJ is on sabbatical. So...???).
I promise... this contest is going to happen to completion and the winner will be paid. I will not end the contest early. Today is 20 Nov.

Size Requirements :
Vector image please. No specific size requirement.

Color Requirements :
It's probably best to stay away from drab colors as primary colors. Something unique, that pops. Then again, I'm not looking necessarily for Bugs Bunny.. Fun, cool, but credible and professional.
It's your option to include a symbol or image in the logo.

General Requirements : (For max chance of success PLEASE READ THIS)
This logo is for a website/outlet for web related intellectual property, apps, domains, and services. The name of the site is Spinsa.com, and that is what the logo should consist of.

Users of the site will have diverse web related needs or offerings. Definitely web savvy types.
The site will include auctions, but they are only a portion of the sites focus and I will reject any logos containing a darned hammer.

Obviously the name means SPINS A DOT COM. Lot's of things spin.. What could spin off (produce a Dot Com (web business)???
I encourage you to use your imagination because in the end I will probably choose the most CLEVER and MEMORABLE idea.

Clever, catchy, unique, memorable..
Anything goes.

Additional Information:
I chose to hold this contest on NP, because I looked through many pages of previous logo contests and found that there is a great deal of talent here who produce high quality design.
One of my favorites was Something Lost. The missing i ...Very clever, and it looked great.

I will provide frequent feedback.

Hi Haze,

Regarding which one to chose among 11-B-C-D, this is really a personal preference. All look equally good to me. If you like, I can deliver all 3 in the package.

The font used here is myriad pro. This is a font that comes with adobe photoshop and illustrator. I can not give you the font file because this is not allowed. In other words, you will not be able to edit the text. There is no editable text here anyway. I have converted the font to shapes. This is allowed with adobe fonts that come with adobe products.

If you would like to have more piece in mind, would like to use the same font elsewhere, or be able to edit the font, I will change the font. If so, just let me know because it is very easy to change it. This is not a very unique font anyway. There are lots of similar free fonts.

To Other Logo Designers,
Because this subject has confused some other logo designers in the past, I would like to mention some sources for my statement above:
1. The clearest explanation is by an adobe employee here on message #4.
2. Second source. Using adobe fonts in artwork for sale (istockphoto etc).
3. Third source. On the first section you can read the second and third questions from bottom, although the language used here is not as clear as above.

Just to clarify what I am saying here: It is all right to convert an adobe font to shapes and use it in a commercial logo, but it is not all right to do the same with other licensed fonts. A work around of this is to change at least one letter in some form. Also you can't deliver the font file along with your artwork if you have used a licensed font whether it be adobe font or not.

OK, that's great. My untrained eye can't tell a difference.
So, this can be trademarked with no issues. Definitely a good thing.

I had to talk with people on my end, so I had nothing til now. The feedback is that the design is very good. A little "sporty". It reminds me of a tennis logo for some reason. But it's good and if there were more time in the contest, the design could have gone somewhere. Thanks for the effort!

Speaking of thanks..
First I want to say to all of you (designers) that this isn't an easy task for a contest holder. This is a series of choices, and some of us (CH's) come into this fairly blind.
In other words with no agenda except attaining a workable logo.
The expectation was (coming in..) that the creators would create and go from there, but I found myself doing a fair bit more guiding than I had anticipated.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm just saying that it was unexpected, and I've proven to be not so good at it. For those of us who are artistically challenged, it's a tough gig.
I think that all of those factors combined caused me to lead Scorion Agency in the wrong direction early on. I apologize for that. and I want to thank Scorpion for all of the great efforts.
Untimately, the winner of the contest is Erdinc. I'm very happy with the design. I'm thinking 11b.
Erdinc, Congratulations to you. Please PM me your Paypal info, and I'll get the prize out to you tomorrow.
