Hey,

I need a Logo done quickly, i am looking for something clean, crisp and not too complex so shouldnt be a problem for you talented guys!

End Date : Friday Midnight (UK Time) Sorry its short notice.
Logo Details:
Main Text : Cranes.TV
Sub Text : The Uk Cranes Channel

I was thinking of something similar to the logo on IDesktop.Tv

Have the text, Sub text similar in style, colour to the IDesktop logo but the '.Tv' letters should be red rather than blue & the blue circle / globe shape before the text should also be red.
Try make the circle / globe shape somehow fit into the sites context (It is a site about the Crane Industry, i.e. Big machines that lift things!) If you can do some design inside the globe that would make it work for a Cranes website....etc

The Logo will be place on the top left of site www.Cranes.Tv
Size should be approx 200px wide, 100 high (though it would help if i can easily adjust size with no problems)
The Logo will be placed on a dark background, most likely black like the IDesktop.tv site but please save it on a transparent background if possible.

Thank You for all the entries so far, i realy did not expect so many people to join in so quickly!

Feedback:
J-MAN - I just dont like it at all, far too simple.

c24_net - I think the Crane jib you used inside the circle shape looks good but apart from that i dont like much, could you try add some shadow/shading to the red circle shape to make it more interesting (a bit like the Windows Vista Logo). The font looks wrong, try sticking with font style & text width to look more like the IDesktop.tv Logo.

umxca - I am not sure just yet about this one, i like it as a starting point but its missing something i think. I like the symbol you have used inside the red circle, that will work well for my site but could you add some shadow / lighting to the red circle to make it more interesting (like the Windows Vista Logo where rather than being a solid colour it has lots of shading)
I am not entirely sure on the text just yet, make try a few other text designs then we can compare.

vsolution - Sorry this just doesnt work for me. I dont think the icon inside the red circle works very well for my site as i wouldnt say it makes you think of Cranes at 1st. I dont like text here either, sorry.

outphasen - Although your design is not really what i was asking for when i stated IDesktop.tv as an example; i really like your design.
I like the one at the bottom best with the red square before the text and then the '.tv' sitting inside the red box.
What needs changed i think is the design inside the red square, it is hard to make out exactly what it is right now (i think its a hook but its not clear to me) so try changing that to something that is easily identifiable as a Cranes Logo (Hook, rope lifting something, Crane Jib, tower crane.....etc)

General advice : Keep it clean, simple but not something i can knock up myself by spending an hour playing with photoshop. Make any red's in the logo bright, full of colour as much of the site is dark and will need brightened up by little touches like the logo.
Use any Text you want but try keep similar feel to Idesktop.tv logo where text is not very big, bold, wide.

Hi,

umxca - Sorry dont like it much. Text is to big, bulky rather than clean simple like on the Idesktop.tv logo that i used as example of what i like. regarding the red circle i dont really like changes to that either although it does make it a little more interesting, i like how it looks more curved and globe like but dont like the repeating circles of colour getting lighter as it reaches centre (not sure i described that right but hope you get my drift)

If you are stuck for a Crane Image to use inside the Red circle/globe to make it eaily identified as a Crane site logo then i passed a amazing looking Crane today and thought something on this lines may work:

Clydeport Crane Glasgow, a Tower Crane like this could possible work as its a strong & easily identifable structure. View Image

Of course i dont expect you to add exact Crane or something as detailed but maybe a tower Crane like that would be a nice structure to try use as its a strong symbol that i guess wouldnt be too complex to design with it mainly being straight lines (i guess but i dont know)
You dont need to use this image or similar, just thought i would try help those who are stuck for inspiration on a strong Crane image.

$tealth, fico & jorge05r : None of these 3 designs suit my needs, think much close to the Idesktop.tv logo that i used as my example expect use re where they use blue and alter the blue globe /circle to be red and also suit Cranes site. SOrry

I appreciate you are trying to be creative and come up with something original but i simply dont have time to have a long drawn out contest with lots of changes, i need this logo in 2 days time so a simple version of Idesktop.tv's logo should be easier, Sorry to be so blunt

My Entry, Feedback Appreciated

Not long left now, i will need to make a decision late on tonight as i gotta use this logo on some Emails on Saturday (approx 8 hours left just now so get any last minute revisions done)

Feedback of latest batch:

$tealth : Not bad, the text is just about what i am looking for and the '.tv' looks ok. The Hook symbol inside the red circle still is not right, try make the hook a little larger and easy to edentift (probably keep it white) The actual globe still looks kinda dull & bland (make red colour brighter, more like on the '.tv', try make it brighter and more beveled (along lines of the Windows Vista Icon)
Stealth you are not far away from what i originally asked for imho, text is fine so just playa round with the globe & symbol.

umxca : Much like the above feedback, the text and .tv look fine but the globe / symbol still doesnt work for me. The crane design inside the globe looks a bit child like (sorry as i know its a complex design to do)

Mitcharr : doesnt really work for me. One thing i like is the colour of the red circle / globe, looks brighter and more round / beveled than others but the crane jib and hook inside looks too light, scribbled (needs to be stronger, more defined)

Sorry it seems you guys are finding it hard to get the globe / cirlce with some kind of cranes related icon inside just right, once again i would say to look at the vista logo and the idesktop.tv logo and do someting similar to them but with a Hook, Crane Jib, Rope lifing something....etc The symbol that will go inside te globe had to be strong, easy to identifiy as something Cranes related.
