REQ: Easy one, logo involving UFOs.

Type of Contest : LOGO Design for 'recentufosighting.com'

Prize : $20.00 via paypal

Contest End Date & Time : Sunday March 19 @ 5:00 pst. There must be at least 4 entries for the contest to be valid. I reserve the right to award a winner and end the contest early, so please submit your entries as quickly as possible. Honestly I would like this done ASAP from anyone willing to throw out a few to me.

Size/File Requirements : Please view the site to determine this as I'm not knowledgeable in that area and wouldn't know and don't want to guide you wrong.

Color Requirements :Black for the font, but UFO (however it is used) might be fun with a little color.

General Requirements : I'd basically like the site name done up to look like a news bulletin you'd see in an old paper, but somehow involved I would like a UFO, or pictures of UFOs, or something of that nature. Nothing overpowering, a single cool UFO flying around it or something is just fine. Or whatever you might think fits with the theme. I obviously want to get rid of that heraldic crest that is on there.

That really was fast.

I like the UFOs, but I was thinking for the font more something that looked like it was done by a typewriter? I thought that fit the overall theme of the site.

I made a little changes to the font so it looks like is was written on a typewriter.

I tried to make sort of an evolution of transportation at the bottom (Just for fun), since i think it looks quite cool haha.

Wow, some great entries.

Josephine, I like your first entry, but maybe without that triangle and a little more streamlined of a UFO. Maybe one red, one green, or something like that.

neo, I like your first one also, maybe an exclamation so it looks like a headline? And I'm not sure about the UFO drawn around the UFO part, but definitely getting to what I like.

Finnerup, I really like your entries. I saw some great typewriter fonts at dafont.com, but I really like your UFOs also. Thank you.

Jennifer, very clean and simple, I like it. Maybe a little more movement or a tilt or something to the UFO? And I'm not entirely sold on the font.

I think overall I really like the typewriter look, I think it fits with the site as far as announcing a headline - and I really like the colored UFOs you guys added, especially the ones that looked like they were 'doing something,' rather than just a static part of the logo.

You guys are all great and talented and it's appreciated, thank you.

If anyone is able to show their entry actually on the page, by taking a screenshot and pasting it over or however works easiest for you, that'd be appreciated. Some of the more vertical entries I'm having difficulty imagining as a consideration - even if they're good - simply because I'm not sure they'd fit well.

Geez jtoms, I'm sorry about that. I like your entry, just really would like it to look a little more like an exclamation with a "!" symbol. I like how yours looks though, maybe a couple small UFOs doing something around it, or lighting it up with a beam or something.

neo I like that a lot, just would prefer the UFO on top, and maybe doing something a little more than sitting there - your last entry is best I think.

So far, guys, I like Finnerup's entry the most but he will be leaving on vacation in a few hours. He is very closely followed by josephine's entry and minucosminu. I like the color and 'digest look' of josephine's entry (also, I think she understood best what I meant about looking like a headline and using typewriter-type font) and minu's entry (the 2nd) I think is just very clean with a nicely unique and colored UFO.

Perhaps just using essentially what I have in a typewriter font, sort've an exclamation of a headline, with an image of a globe behind the words somewhere, maybe near 'recent' and a UFO doing something near the end of the headline.

I don't think that too many of the vertical submissions work, horizontal, headline-type, is really what I need.

What if the headline was taller/wider, and the UFOs were situated more to the upper/left or upper/right of it? So as to not add too much to the height..

I would like to match the current width of the stock logo.

Also I like the red, not so much the blue... Think a green or silver or red works better for the UFOs.

neo: I like the UFO, and the one shooting the blue light down, but not with the...balloons and stuff hanging off them?

I'm also not a big fan of the font. I really wanted it to look like an old school bold headline you'd seen in a newspaper.

josephine, I like that a lot more, but I'd still prefer it a little longer (headline, not including UFO to side). Maybe the UFOs situated more up at an angle, so they're taking up less space horizontally - and that space can be used to make the headline longer. Maybe try dropping the recentufosighting.com part also..
