If it's already pending delete, I don't think you can renew it anymore. However, do contact your registrar to be sure. There's no harm asking.

You should backorder your domain with the dropcatchers such as snapnames.com, pool.com so that when it drops, you will catch it. However, other people might also backorder on the same name and you will have to bid against them to win this domain.

If the names are in pending delete it means they are past redemption period and cannot be recovered.
Now be careful because certain TLDs like .us use a different terminology than .com:

pending delete restorable = redemption => name recoverable
pending delete scheduled for release = pendingdelete => name NOT recoverable

It was negligence on the part of the registrar. I sent them an email 2 days before grace period expiry asking them the renewal cost and they didn't respond. Then I wrote them an email yesterday[domains showed Pending Delete]. The customer REP responded back saying he needs my account name.

BTW, the registrar is DomainSite.

The only thing I will do is sue them for neglecting my emails.

:-/ What kind of registrar is that, you can't just renew your names online yourself, the renewal fees should then be displayed ?
Anyway, you shouldn't wait just before expiry to renew.
If it's pending-delete (short) and it's .com/.net now it's to late to redeem them. You can still put a backorder on them and cross fingers.

It is the owners responsibility to renew the names before expiration. I'd be interested to know the registrar

I use Domainsite often - And the renewal fees on everything they offer has always been available to me ?? If you cant find it on the site - you could have started the renewal process and stopped at the first Checkout page to see the fees involved .... I don't really see how you can blame them at this point - It's not like they switch it to pending delete 2 days after the Original Expiration date.

So Charley wants to sue DomainSite because they never got his email asking about renewal pricing 2 days before it fell into Pending Delete status. Get real, Charley. It's your responsibility to renew your domain BEFORE it EXPIRES. Good luck with your lawsuit. Make sure you've transfered all your domains out of DomainSite BEFORE you tell them about the lawsuit.

I try to always renew mine a month before they are due...
and some that I would actually SCREAM if I lost - those I have set to auto-renew.... but I still watch them...

Good Luck getting your name back...
Renew Earlier from now on....

Exactly what I would've written. You cant hold the registrar responsible in this case. It wasn't neglect on their part, it was neglect on yours.
