What's this - I thought Registerfly is dead !!

I am getting renewal notices from them for expired domains which I lost because of their business practices.

How can they just re-surface after all that fiasco?

I am getting emails from them saying that names are expired that were transferred to GoDaddy during the fiasco. I don't know what their scam is. According to the whois they don't expire until next year. Can they actually send a name into redemption if they are not the registrar on record?

Registerfly have always continued after that fiasco. They have reverted to what they were originally which was a reseller for another registrar (can't remember who but possibly tucows).

Ever since people have been receiving renewal notices that registerfly do not even have any more (some have been charged as well)

Anybody still using them should be taken out and shot to put them out of their misery.

:hi:

Just to be safe, if you had a RegisterFly account before see if you can log in and delete any and all credit card info that may be there.

Regfly cannot be trusted under any circumstances (IMHO).

Block them

I just zapped them with the old spam filter! Whatever I had left there, I don't need to renew!

Perhaps reg fly has a secret plot to take over the domain world in a very strange way?

Why would you pay to transfer then pay to renew? Why not wait til they are expired and just pay the renew fee

I have been getting a ton of these renewal notices as well, luckily at the first hint of danger I transferred everything out before things got bad so nothing was lost, for the newbies just in case the BIG ICANN notice on the site doesn't scare ya away, a little history...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Registerfly

"In early March two competing and visually similar versions of the RegisterFly website were online. Naruszewicz had taken over control of RegisterFly.com and RegisterFly.net was under Medina's management, each through separate service providers. On March 7, 2007, reports emerged that Registerfly.net was effectively a phishing site.[25]. Customers were urged to avoid all business with RegisterFly.net, and immediately, to change their passwords via RegisterFly.com, since even though the websites were separate, Medina still had a duplicate of all account information."

those renewal emails contain a .NET link in them

I have no domains in my old RF account but I did have hundreds. I was getting a lot of renewals and finally sent them a ticket to remove the domains and notices. They actually replies saying it's been taken care of. Well guess what...it wasn't. Shocker I know. I just changed my info to my spam haven yahoo mail account which I only use for pure crap signups at sites I don't trust. I like the idea to change it to [email protected] though. :)

just changed mine to support@registerfly and put "Delete" for name, address, etc... with the 5555555 phone, could understand 1 notice but I am getting 3-4 for each domain that used to be there.
